I think you should stick with stock wheels and get the spokes painted black. Some guy on this club site did that and I think it looks great. Black w/ red!! They were also talking about painting the "M" logo on the front black as well. Check it out, he also painted his hood triangle black. I think it looks awesome.
in all seriousness though, the painted stock wheels look surprisingly good & it is an inexpensive solution. it will pay to have a place that knows what they are doing paint them for you though; chipped black wheels wouldn't be good. oh yeah, & consider leaving the 'lip' (if you can call it that) silver to leave some contrast.

The best rims that you can get to your rx-8 is the OZ ULTRALEGGERA F1 - LIMITED EDITION.
the only problem is that they do not come to fit the rx-8 and the second is that they stop producing the rim the 15-th of may 2006
