Aluminum radiator and hoses
Hey all, to update my status; i decided to upgrade my 2011 rx8 sport, 6 speed manual with an r3 bilstein suspension, racing beat dual on both sides catback, k&n dropin air filter with optima redtop, 15% tint and asa ar1 wheels rims. My next venture is looking towards keeping the car nice and cool. I want some input on an an aluminum radiator swap and coolant hoses(mishimoto). Im currently looking at a mizu setup on good- win- racing.com, but unsure of fitment. Some input and experienceis welcome. Thanks again, - chicojackson

Why, do you want to throw out a perfectly good 2011 Radiator which was updated for S2's along with many other cooling system parts.?
I have not heard that 'normal' Series II's have had any cooling issues with updated Radiator, Extra Fan Speed, New Cooling Fan Motors, new Water Pump, and Oil pressure/ Oil cooling system.
What makes you believe you need ''an improvement'', do you track?
BTW, The Series 2 Cooling Fan Motor shroud mount (plastic) is also different to the Series 1, and install issues if trying to fit it to a Series 1 Radiator.
Different Hoses won't make your system cool any better also.
I think Paimon may have done some changes to his S2 Cooling System..

Mizu rad will not properly fit an S2. Actually, very few domestically (USA) available radiators will fit the S2.
silicone hoses should not be used on street cars
upgraded radiator will not make your engines operating temperature cooler.
You can try contacting Mizu to see if they updated their design to fit the S2, but the last time I spoke to them it wasn't something they intended on doing since the market is small. The product listing on their website shows 03-08 for that matter. Mishimoto is another brand I contacted that also doesn't have plans on making the necessary changes to fit the S2.
I think the only one that actually fits the S2 without modifications is the Koyo radiator .... but that is nothing more than an OEM replacement (V series)

We put a BHR/Griffin radiator into Kster's R3 because he tracks it and wanted to keep it cool during the hot track days.
If I remember right, the radiator mounted up just fine, it was the S2 shroud that you some of the bolt holes don't line up. I think we ended up slotting the shroud a little on each hole and adding one strap where it obviously is different. I thought I had pics but couldn't find them. At first we tried to source an S1 shroud and swap the fans but no body had one for sale at a reasonable price so we skipped that.
From looking at the BHR radiator or any other, it would seem to be an easy fix for any of the suppliers to have another mounting dowel added and then it could be sold as either S1 or S2 but it's not really that much issue.
