So I got the exhaust fitted at the weekend.
I probably should have opted for the resonated pipe rather than the straight through one... I currently also have the RB manifold and the BHR resonated de-cat but my god...
IT IS LOUD!
But a good loud
Will need to avoid the Police for a while (or just dump the clutch and coast past them...) I've been told it should settle down after a while once it got a few miles on it and gets a bit of carbon in the exhaust to quieten it down.
Sounds very nice at idle and between 2-7K revs. The sound trails off when it gets above 7K. Also gives a nice burble when you let off the accelerator as well as a few pops now and again.
Torque is slightly improved in the lower rev range, enough so that the power above 6K revs doesn't feel like such a jump anymore.
I will try and get a video recorded at the weekend but I don't think my iPhone would justify the sound levels this thing is putting out. My friend at work has kindly agreed to let me borrow his sound meter so I can get a dB reading just to give you all an idea.
I'm still keeping money aside for a few weeks in case the inevitable FedEx Bill comes through for more money.....
Can't recommend this exhaust system enough!

No not at all, I mean sure it looks pretty but it's going to get scratches and muck on it overtime, no point in stressing over it... It will still sound amazing and that's the main point

I am interested in this exhaust but there is only one video on Youtube. Upload a video like you said you would if you see this post! I just want to hear that beautiful exhaust one more time before I buy

I have a few short videos on my Instagram which is @j2dag1990 - the problem with videos I have found is that it doesn't portray just how loud and nice sounding it is in real life (well when recorded off a phone anyway). Put it this way, I've done track days with the RX8 UK owners Club with about 20 rx8s on track and always get compliments after on how nice mine sounds on track.

As nice as it sounds, I'd advise to go for the resonated joining pipe. I've failed track drive-by noise tests as it is and had to come off track before. Also on a cold start in the mornings your neighbours WILL hear it haha. I'm okay as I only drive mine on weekends anyway. It has quietness down a bit over time but you can still hear it from a mile off haha!

You don't really have a choice anyway, as you can't buy this anymore for an R3 as it is sold out.
Doesnt sound sh*t on my car that's for sure! But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Maybe the RB manifold and BHR mid-pipe makes a difference on mine as it sounds amazing.
no idea on weight but I'd go for a single exit anyway if its weight saving you are after which will always be lighter. HKS do one.

how restrictive is stock S2 muffler anyways? I have mazsport resonated midpipe and stock catback.
wonder if any of the aftermarket catbacks would flow any better that what I have now?
