TX Racing Beat Rev8 Twin Tip Exhaust

I finally got around to ordering this exhaust and it is installed. My first impression was "maybe this exhaust note is too conservative" and it is pretty quiet. Watching all those YouTube videos didn't really give me a proper impression of how it would sound. With wind noise and people using digi cameras with crap microphones it is no surprise.

With that said I really do like the twin tip action. Appearance wise and build quality is top notch. I plan on doing a resonated mid-pipe and didn't want an exhaust that was loud all by it self. The idle tone is nice and deep and it does sound nice while driving. I am coming from a 00' Civic that had a Greddy Evo exhaust which was nice and ricey loud. This is far from that...

It currently smells, to me, like someone baking a funky blueberry muffin or something. I was actually sitting at a stop light looking around for a bakery on my first cruse. Alas, it was my car!

Looks good. I was wondering how the twin tip would look. One request, can you get a pic a little further away?

Not my cup of tea, but quality wise, it will be very well put together.
Conecrning the smell..............yeah my RB did that for quite a while after install.
I think when you get the mid-pipe on you'll be happy.
Well..........at least your car is blue, so it matches the muffin smell.

Nice exhaust, very subtle. I installed one on a locals 2010. Sounds really good with the REVI intake.

This will have to do until tomorrow when there is sunlight. From the outside, it's obviously louder seeing how the car interior muffles the sound. No pun intended... Niiiiice deep done with no rasp what so ever.

The reason it's an effin tent is because my jealousy wants one.

Whats up on our Oktoberfest party idea? We need to make something happen yo.

Me, either. I like the look of the twin tips, but my only complaint is that the semi-circular shape of the bumper exhaust tip cutout doesn't match the shape of the twin-tip version as well as a single, bigger exhaust tip. I just can't decide which I want.

I've been meaning to and want to make sure it is better than all those shitty YouTube videos. That means no wind noise, not in a garage basically, and doesn't involve me turning camera on then running to car.

Its currently(as far as I know) the only exhaust you can buy for the s2 rx8s that will fit out of the box. It will only change your sound, and maybe give you a couple of HP. If your looking for some actual HP go for a mid pipe I think they provide the most bang for the buck HP-wise.

You can get a Agency Power mid pipe for $216 I think that's the cheapest you can get that should still be good quality.

i'd like to see it from farther away from a regular eye level height. It looks good, but I'm not sure if I prefer it to the single tips or not... and all the pics are from the ground up - and i rarely walk to my car with my face 1 foot from the pavement, haha

I don't know, the Midpipes from what i've read were made and designed for other cars - not for our 8s. I'd rather take BHR on their popular presence around here and get a midpipe designed for our car.

I like the way the exhaust matches the look of the tail lights. two for two. I think a exhaust that flows like the IS F would be good. Opposite of where the line of the exhausts flow though.

Instead of going top-middle to Bottom-out. It would be Top-Outer to Bottom-Mid.

I thought you meant exhaust tip like this one:

Wow, I am kind of shocked by this photo. Those are not the usual clean welds that RB puts out.

I guess these things are really personal. Just because the rear cavities can house twin tips doesn't mean you should fit them. What if they could fit triple tips, would they make those as well?? Just looks way too busy to me.
