RX8 S2 Exhaust

RX8 S2 Exhaust
Hey guys,
Just a quick question, does a rp supercat midpipe and obx headers fit on a s2 rx8 and also would this connect up to the standard rx8 s2 gt exhaust or a re-amemiya super dolphin tail catback exhaust??
Cheers

imho the dolphin sounds ricey, i was very disappointed in RE-A.. Others may disagree, but ask yourself if you are being swayed by the name RE-A.....
I would get either the racing beat header, or the garageline header by TurboXS... the obx has terrible fitment.
either way, that raspy RE-A exhaust will get even raspier and ricey when adding a header... Ask yourself if +4 peak hp is worth all that noise, naspyness, riceness and oh yeah... $500+ not including install.....

The best set up in my opinion would be Racing Beat Header, HKS HI-Power Catback, and then either of the racing beat mid-pipes, dual resonated sounds AMAZING!
EricB I hope you're enjoying that midpipe!(:

i went over a speedbump and scraped the whole underside of the first resonator a day after i got it. i was ready to punch a hole in a wall. I havnt been able to pop flames though... only tiny ones about 5inches long
submit a positive ITrader rating too when you get the chance KGR! i sent one to you a while ago.

get anything for the s1 and its going to fit your S2. As for cat backs, just get ajustable hangers from ebay and your not going to burn your shrouds. I even ran without the hangers for some time, it did melt the tip a bit but after buffing them the havent burnt more than it had on the first week before buffing them. I might event consider putting them back closer to the shroud as its looks like they are pointing down a bit with the longer hangers.
And btw, RE-Amemiya is the best you could ever get for your rotary

If you haven't heard the exhaust in person, it is hard to justify why it is so expensive. And the word ricey and Re-Amemyia shouldn't be in the same sentence
At the beginning and the end of the video, you can exactly hear how quiet the exhaust is at idle.

why because its expensive? I agree that it looks nice, but im still sticking to my original observation.
Either way, bhr midpipe and done.
I feel bad for all you guys out there who are unsatisfied with the common exhausts out there. I would never pay 1k+ for something that just makes noise, because being honest a header and exhaust do squat.. most of the restriction comes from the cat.

no it is not because it is expensive. Because it actually makes a difference. You think all the bends at the back section of the exhaust system is for looks? It actually serve a purpose. You get what you pay for. I have driven other RX8 with different exhaust setup from Mazdaspeed, Racing beat, Greddy,HKS every one of those felt different. If you believe header and exhaust do squat, well thats because your exhaust was ricey. Either way, one to each own.
back to the original question. Yes any mid pipe should able to connect to any cat-back.

@Eric, you dont know what your missing lol
and exactly how much power do you "feel" from your BHR mp, without proper management you pobably lost power because the ecu is tuned with the fact that there IS restriction in the exhaust. it will always be correcting its original mapping so will never be optimal.
not because you dont like something means you can just rant about it,
now tell me, How do you really feel behing told bad thing about what you "think" is right

2. I do not have the bhr midpipe, and ecu tuning is obvious, unfortunately for you S2 guys however... oh well.
3. you seem to misunderstand the rules of the internet and what its aboot.
4. i feel like french toast.

Yes EricB this is the Series 2 section. Thanks for your input from the Series 1 point of view. And there is ECU tuning for Series 2, and guess where is it from. RE-Amemiya. OH wait, that is also ricey cause is expensive too.
#15
if the argument is that the ecu will always correct for expected restriction then why buy the exhaust/midpipe/header in the first place if you need a tune to correct for it.
this is where you say: i like the way it sounds,
and then i say: i dont.
WOW COOL! /endthread.

Obviously tuning is never a one step process.
Improving volume metric efficiency is the first step.
Tuning ecu / custom map will help to uitlize the upgrade.
Keep in mind intake, ignition, fuel delivery all comes into play.

sorry to bring back a dead thread but it seems like one of you guys would know the answer to my dumb question... ( I havnt looked around much on the forum) anyway with a dual resonated midpipe would that throw a CEL on the dash? not much of an exhaust guy.
#20
typically a dual resonated midpipe will have one of the two resonators in place of a catalytic converter. Without the catalytic converter you will throw a CEL. Therefore yes a DR midpipe will throw a CEL.
