Turbo XS Cat Question
Not sure if this has been asked before, but...
What is it that makes this thing only work with their catback?
Is it just a gimmick claim they use to sell more products?
What prevents this from working with the OEM CB?

iirc the flange from the mid pipe to the long tube (between mid and actual mufflers) is unique to turbo xs. i believe guys have had it cut and re welded

TurboXS rear flange is a true 3" flange. Most aftermarket 3" catbacks are designed to where they either reduce down to OEM diameter at the flange connecting to the catalytic converter pipe, or have slots on their flange to give room for the bolts to align with the OEM diameter catalyst pipe... kinda defeating the point of a 3" if you think about it. Its a bottleneck in the 3" pipe.
TurboXS designed theirs to be a true 3" exhaust setup, this is why their midpipe only works with their catback as the rear flange of the midpipe is too large to pair up with any other catback on the market.
This is also why they they sell two different versions of that rear donut gasket, which one you use will depend on if you have their cat back to a OEM size mid pipe or their cat-back to their specific mid pipe that needs the larger diameter donut. The front flange of their mid pipe uses a flat style gasket as opposed to the ring type the OEM uses because it is also 3 in going into the header instead of a reduced sized to slip inside the header a few millimeters.
