Ok, the powermod is a go but it took alot of BS to figure out what would work. I had to put 650cc injectors in the primary holes wich seems to have worked very well. It will work until theres some way to flash.

you can use any aftermarket PCM with a custom boomslang harness which is really NBG, controlling CELs etc. is another matter ...

Find the connectors that fit the S2 ECU and I am in for making a Boomslang harness. I have not been able to find them.

a PCM and harness out of a wrecked S2 would do, but cutting the wires and tapping them directly is about the same thing other than it coming to you as PnP ...

Because at this point your factory harness would have to be cut allowing the Haltech to be patched in, but you would have full control over ignition, timing and any other features you wanted to use. It really opens the platform up for more possibilities.

If someone really wants to try feel free to hit me up. Again the problem I am having is creating a patch harness. IF there is someone who wants or can figure out where to source connectors I am all in for helping you guys create a system to tune series 2 cars. I just have not had anyone who wants to cut the factory harness and void their warranty, and is why I have not further posted in this thread.

Only update i can give is that I'll be trying this prob late april / early may . Been talking with him by email here and there. My factory warrnaty is gone this summer anyway so I could careless about that at this point .... so worst case scenerio , we'll have an option hopefully after I get my car done with the Haltech .

Ok .... dropped my car off to Brad in Oklahoma city to get haltech installed. He said figure 2 to 2 1/2 weeks or so. Really looking forward to seeing what this will do.

On another note, got to check out his shot. Pretty cool stuff he's got going on over there. Guy can do just about anything you would want with a rotary whether it be a 20 b or a turbo set up. Plan for me is once i get this thing tuned with the haltech, prob going to do a turbo set up next summer with him.

I will post results once i have them .

Which Haltech are you getting installed? Platinum 1000 I assume? And I also guess you will be doing a "parallel" installation, meaning your retaining the stock PCM to control things like the instrument cluster and the drive by wire?

Yes I believe it's the 1000 ... The unit has the capability to run the entire car, but yes .... will be keep the factory computer running instruments, steering wheel control, etc and then the haltech will basically just be running the engine.

I can say as of today there is a solution for Series II tuning. bcdjudo7's car is up and running on the platinum sport 1000 without a check engine light on.

Brian,
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work on such a fine example of a RX8.

Will it run the DBW throttle
The APV valves?
Does it allow individual staging and control over the fuel injectors?
The MOP?

Ahhhh he beat me to it ! lol .... all up and running guys. No final results yet , though as we haven't had it on the dyno and tuned which he is doing next week. We'll know then what it added power wise. I'm picking car up next weekend and we're going to talk about doing a turbo at some point.

To answer some of the questions, the unit has the capapbilitiy, from what i was told, to control everything ... so I would think you can change anything you want on the car with it. Getting rid of that damn check engine light was nice , too Cost .... whoever wants to know this I can't really give you an accurate amount since i got a differenct deal for being the experimental car, but I would just goto his website and contact him. He's pretty easy to reach about pricing. As soon as I or he has results from dyno , etc we'll post here. Looking good so far , though !
