While I was gone they ran into another problem. We are getting an error now (7FB110 Invalid Card Response) from ME and it basically locks us out from doing anything. Epifan says that this is because we flashed the ECU more than 100 times with a non-fixed kernel version. He says its because we're using an older version of ME and the version as of Feb 2013 has fixed kernel version flashing but we only started using ME in July... anyway he says we have to use a Piasini Master suite tool to flash a file that he'll provide to fix it. Sure is a lot of registration steps with ME lol. Bought it, had to wait a day for my key, entered key, and sent him an email with my VIN and device key. I assume i need to wait for all of that information to come back as well before I can do anything worth bothering with?

I'd like to cleanup ECU but don't have experience to do it myself. |
Not yet. I would prefer to learn myself, but may end up giving one of the gurus my monnies for help.
Just got my bin file back from epifan. I am thinking that my preliminary goals are the following: 1. Disable emissions CEL's 2. Tune out the richness at start since I dont have a cat 3. Tune max load afr's down to ~13 as opposed to the 11.9 that I get from the oem tune lol. |

I take it the ME software is on laptop with OBDII cable and that's how we flash the thing? Hmm--wonder if my race shop would be interested. They use Cobb and do the S1 RX8. |
Correct. You need an OpenPort2.0 to interface the vehicle with ME.

Also, someone reputable around here, though I can't remember who now, mentioned in another thread that the stock wideband can be rather inaccurate toward the richer end of the scale, so I would take care with that as well. Of course, I'm about as much a noob at this as anybody - just sharing what (I think) I've learned so far. |

Also, the shop reading for A/F was leaner than the oem sensor. They start out about the same, but at higher rpm (hotter and richer) the oem sensor reads 12.x while the shop sensor was reading 13.x
Both car and shop read richer in the last run (when temps must have been higher). Per the shop readings I am running too lean, so not sure what to make of that.

Yup, just got a new registration key today, worked like a charm. Woo hoo, for the first time in like 3 years, driving without a CEL lololol.
