There's no reason to lean out an NA engine at the low end rpm range like that, kno king it out of closed loop that early is only eating fuel and hurting power

I just got this email from steve today.
We are launching VersaTuner for Series II RX-8 today.* We are also running a spring sale.* VersaTuner is $100 off until Sunday night at midnight. |
Yess!! I think i might pull the "trigger" on that deal.
Ro, Is that "$300" adapter they sell necessary? Pretty steep for an USB OB2 adapter... |
A word of caution .............. A new ECU flashing tool can be a minefield . We have been through this a lot on this forum .
We have not even seen a proper tune done using it yet ..............................Ro_t8 ? |
I am definitely aware of that. From all the developments I've been monitoring and the time its taking with ME, I am not planning on jumping into any Tuning Software Blind Folded. But hopefully I can be one of the 1st to share my findings with Versatuner.
I dont share much in this forum, but I read ALOT. Members here can be "negative"... |

Nothing wrong with that .......... but i can tell you that ME works and I have a car running on a successful tune right now . Whether it will work for you , depends on more than whether the program works or not .......................... just sayin' . |
True true.
I am definitely not naive about the possible failure it could be, BUT I am also excited about another possible tuning solution for S2 owners. S1s have all the fun. |

Hello guys!
Just registered even though i dont have an RX8. But i still have some nice info to share with you all :) I own a Mazda 6 MPS and i use Versatuner. So i have taken some screenshots and also uploaded a youtube clip of how you flash using this superb software. Keep in mind that the tables shown here might be different from what you guys will have Versatuner Startpage http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...tuner_home.jpg Settings page http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...r_settings.jpg There is an online database with OTS tunes, and below that is your own tunes http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...uner_tunes.jpg Dashboard, this is where the live logging takes place http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics..._dashboard.jpg Engine Idle is one of many tables available http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...tuner_idle.jpg Open Loop Timing values in one of my tunes http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...ner_timing.jpg Fuel target table http://www.mazdapower.se/images/pics...tuner_fuel.jpg And finally here's a youtube clip of the actual flashing of a new tune Right now im at around 350-360BHP (290AWHP) on stock turbo so Versatuner sure does what it's supposed to! I would recommend this to anyone!! Go for it!! :) If you have any questions feel free to ask! :) |

the tactrix open port works too if you can get one for cheaper than the versalink.
I would recommend VersaLink over Tactrix because the tactrix can very easily break at the small usb connection. The versalink is much more sturdy |

Personally I am so excited to finally be able to tune my s2 w/o ME that I think I'll have to jump on this one. And good timing too because my nitrous kit gets here wednesday :)

Not sure what you are referring to , but there were no changes made to the stock fueling below 5000rpm.
Also, its amusing to watch you tell people the same things you were told when you were an early trailblazer with the then-new to the scene MazdaEdit system :-p . |

Guess i misunderstood what was going on since I didn't read the entire thread. The data I was looking at showed significantly richer AFRs below 5k.
. You are definitely a 'shoot first, ask questions later' kinda guy ;)

You didn't study the chart/read the commentary properly.
You are definitely a 'shoot first, ask questions later' kinda guy ;) The difference being ..............I didn't have any other options at the time. I read the graph and text then commented is all, and in the end it doesn't really matter either way which is why it makes more sense to acquiece rather than get into a debate over it. Thanks for the cheap shot in return ;) the difference is now you have an reason to take that particular position; you invested yourself in the MazdaEdit option and feel like it fits your need. Now you're not interested in something else new ... |
Quick quick Testing with VersaTuner
I haven't had time to do a large amount of work. UI is pretty clean and easy to use. Installation on PCM was very quick and easy. Have flashed to change Fan Temps and Timing only. Very simple to find Tables... Will be MAF Scaling soon... Will try to keep posting updates. |

Here's a quick vid I just made, testing out the launch control and no lift shift.
|
Very cool . Can you adjust the rpm ? 6500 seems a little high ?
|
Thanks! Ya it is little high and I can change it. I'll be working on that today.

And your comment was wrong ..... which showed me you didn't read the explanation of what colour lines represented what.
Since you seem to want to argue the point I went back and looked. The issue wasn't that I didn't read it. I just didn't catch your meaning of your wrong hemisphere choice of words anymore than if you told me your were going throw some chook on the barbie. We don't say 'normalize', we say 'clear', 'reset', or 'zero' That said, I've never seen a factory S1 tune read that rich at that low in the rpm range. |

That said, I've never seen a factory S1 tune read that rich at that low in the rpm range. *It's not a chook ........... it's a " shrimp on the barbie" . * But that's only if you are an Aussie ....which i'm not . I guess my Avatar is hard to understand. *Also normalise (and lots of other words) were always meant to be spelt with an 's' not with a 'z' (pronounced "zed" not zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ) but seeing as this is a US forum I guess I'll have to ............"do as the Romans do". *A factory S1 tune ............you think 12.5-13 at 4000 is rich ? |
I have seen versatune used with mazdaspeed vehicles. People really seem to like it.
With the LC and FFS does it cut fuel or ignition? |
