well my car is finally done, if you did not see my prior post quick recap

car was behind salt truck and had about $8,400 in damages, paid some additional out of pocket and got the whole car fixed and resprayed and black on top red on bottom.

got one of it finished so far, but waiting to get GF together and go out on a shoot with it

first here is the first photoshop we did of my car

and here is the final product sorry for pic but will be adding more

i love it and am very happy with results, the red flake in the black is barly noticable unless in direct sunlight

I'm not really a fan of that paint job. It's a little over done.

However, that doesn't mean I don't think it looks good! Maybe you could powder coat your rims black, to really make it stand out? Too much color going on, IMHO.

Otherwise, congrats on your "new" 8!

+1 on two tone paint job being overdone.

definitely not the direction i would go...

imo, needs more mods to support over the top paint job.

just my $.02

well in the long run im hoping someone with some great black rims has an eye for R3 stock rims for a trade,

but i am going to see what a small gunmetal pin stripe right below the black looks like to break up the line and also match the rims, but agree rims should be black, just i had to get paint job done if i wanted it now as i only paying like $500 out of pocket for the full job so that is why i jumped on it right away. and i have plans to get alot more stuff done aswell

I see that you got the Mazda emblem removed of the front bumper too. What do you think it would cost to get the front bumper debadged cleanly with a bit of touch up paint?

I smell a troll, the second pic still looks like a chop to me. Removing the front emblem on an s2 is a bit tricky, I doubt anyone would do all that and paint it for $500.00. If it is real then I'm sorry because you ruined a beautiful VR.

I was under the impression that his insurance covered some of the costs that why it was only $500. I'm still really interested in seeing a clean SII debadge.

yes you are absolutly right insurance paint $8400, total job came to about $11,000
but being i am the appraiser and wrote my own repair order and my work discounts only cost me $139 out of pocket

also the front emblem is very easy to get on and off on a series 2 if you have a clue what you are doing , and it is back on the car atm,

Not reading?

The second pic looks chopped to me. You can't see any detail at all and the black seems to over run in some places making it look like a chop to me. I can't see the bulge in the front bumper cover even though the emblem is missing. Mod Edit: comment removed it's just my opinion. If you care what I think so much post some decent pics instead of a photshop and a crappy cell pic at night.

That is an insane price for a pretty basic paint job. Should be about half that at most.

well there was some damage done, also replaced headlamps and oil coolers (roughly $2000 of the bill)

but every panel and bumpers where all sanded down and any nicks dents etc were all removed from the whole car. if you have any experience with auto body you would understand that a good full proper paint job is a hell of a lot more and looks a hell of a lot better than a $2000 macco job

Geesh, was posting a proper pic so damn hard? Not digging the bulge where the emblem was. And that price is insane. I definitely think a line of color to break up the black and red would look good.
