LED 3rd brake light

Has anyone seen this LED 3rd brake light for Series II available anywhere? This is from one of the JDM thread but the pics are gone now so I attached them to this thread.

I think the trunk lid is the same as the series-I.
If so, you can find these brake lights on eBay, for instance.

Right, but this one looks like a Koito lens, which makes me think it's a factory light. I don't really dig those eBay ones. They look too aftermarket (cheezy) in my opinion. This one seems to match the LED taillamps better.

I have the Ebay one and I have installed it on an R3 and a 2010 GT and it looks factory. Not sure where you get Cheesy from. I actually think it should be the first mod for series II owners since the tail lights are LED.

I have the Red lens one

Thanks for the high-res pics. eBay sellers have such terrible images, it's like they don't want to sell them.

No offense taken, foo the price, you could buy a few of them to keep as backup They are a 1/3rd of what they cost a couple of years ago and the quality is actually pretty good. Just make sure you use the rubber gasket from the OEM light. The gasket that comes with it is new and very stiff, it makes getting it to fit perfectly difficult.

I will try and get some close up high res pics later today.

The eBay light is different than the one in the OP (two rows of LEDs instead of one). The eBay light can be installed in the OEM housing like that first pic though, in fact I have mine installed in the OEM housing so it has the Koito logo on it.

I never thought of installing it in the OEM housing. Any reason you did that?

Thanks Aipex8 and everyone else, I ordered one from eBay, swapped housings, and installed it today. If anyone else is going to swap housings, you need a couple small washers since the OEM screws are too long for the eBay light or else you may bottom out the screws and crack it.

Is yours a series I or series II car?
If series I, do you have LED tail light/brake light bulbs? Because if you do, swapping the third brake light to LED will cause the ABS light to come on. All three lights with LED require a resistor on series I.

This is not true. I have a 2004 and all my lights are LED. The turn signals are the only bulbs that require resistors. There are a couple others running the same setup as me with the same results.

Well, my experience is different.
My car is also a 2004 and I have LED tail light bulbs. However as soon as I swapped the third brake light to use a LED bulb, I got the ABS light illuminated and the error code showed a problem with the ABS system. It went away when I swapped back the incandescent bulb.

I have LEDS as well and no ABS light issues. I think it has more to do with the bulbs you are using.

VLEDS bulbs everywhere. The ones mentioned in Aipex's LED bulb thread. That's what you used too?
I tried a bulb in the third brake light. I wonder if using the eBay LED third brake light makes a difference...

see if the abs light is still on with it unplugged.
I only ask because I don't have a third brake light and never had a problem. You might be tinkering with the wrong answer for the right equasion.

The Aftermarket rubber gasket is harder in the smoke (aftermarket), and won't allow you to put the light deeper out to make it flush at the back:

I have that exact same problem. LED 3rd brake light installed: ABS, Traction Control Lights illuminate. LED 3rd brake light removed and OEM re- installed: Warning Lights go away. My LED has been sitting on a shelf in the garage until I can figure out what to do. someone said to get resistors, but at what amps/ohms? I have LED brake tail lamps installed and they present no problems. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
