R3 badge - UK
Hello everyone. I recently saw a video on youtube, and red R3 from UK got a badge on the back like this:
R3 Badge
Do you know number part of this badge? Is it OEM? I only saw this on some cars in UK, nothing like this outside of the UK. Dealership here can't find it in their base, maybe if I had part number, they would be able to track it.

As usual wrong on all counts, there is no R3 badge from Japan factory...
Please see MME Dealer EPC for Right Hand Drive Mazda Series 2 RX-8 (UK and Australia) below.
There is no 'R3" badge available from Japan listed, and never was.
R3 is not a 3rd 'Revision', it was a name used to identify the Series 2 Model code and Specs from a local Marketing or Sales point only, there is Nothing in any genuine Mazda EPC/ factory Manuals that refers to 'R3' and never was.
USA and Europe called the Series 2 with factory side spoilers, 19 inch alloys, Bilstein Shocks/revise springs (and a harder rear stabilizer bar (solid) and crap Recaro Seats and slightly different Front Bumper cover/spoiler the R3 (there were no extra real go fast or engine performance improvements, none).
In Australia and New Zealand there was no R3 as it was called the GT (exact same specs as R3) also with no physical GT badge.
Having said that there is a possibility Mazda UK had locally made R3 badges like the tacky looking thing above and stuck them on locally as M-UK love branding models with tacky looking crap like the generations of MX-5 over the years with dopey names and numbering of different nothing updates or 'special' tacky badges.
IF they existed you have to contact a UK Mazda Part Dealer for supply I very much doubt any new stocks would be available.

Well, well, well! One for the dealer to answer, I think, as the Mazda site shows a badge there. Note also that little R3 sticker which was in the pack until they fitted it as I was collecting the car.

They left the sticker for the first owner to decide where to put it.
Some haven't put it on the boot as it ain't shiney like the rest of the badges so some have decided to put it above the glove box which is where the old badges that you could get for series 1 went. but totally different shape than the new ones.

R3 has whatever 40thaniversry has ( foam filled subframes, Bilstein shocks with Mazda copy from Prodrive PZ edition and many other changes)
Based on my observation all R3 has that badge, some put in back, some on the glovebox, also R3 is equal to S2.
We do not talk about Japan factory! we were talking about the UK market.
The badge is cheesy if you are asking me, the shaved boot lid is much stylish IMO.

If you read quoted parts you will they are dated from the actual owner who purchase their car from a Mazda dealer.
That R3 badge reffed as a " sticker" which it is and was handed in a plastic bag to them, some stick it on the back, some on the dashboard or...
somewhere down the sale, they stopped providing that sticker.
I have to say I see them on most of the R3's I see in the UK. Not a big deal though

I showed you MME/UK EPC (Mazda Genuine Parts Catalog) and R3 badge does not exist from MAZDA.
OEM means 'Original Equipment Manufacture'.
You show an eBay listing as gospel Mazda which it is not.
There are no Mazda made in Japan made 'R3' badges, never was and again I challenged you for a Mazda Part Number
and you have not come through years later and keep changing your fantasy.
Now it's the Mazda Dealer hand the owner a plastic bag with a badge inside so the owner can choose where to STICK IT!...lol.
