Flashed the above nightly, working much better, appears that text editing is disabled? No text displayed and when I change to alt mode, no display. Changing back goes back to normal.

+ button still a little sketchy, I can get it to work, but have to rapidly flick it up to get it to register, but can do it everytime. Trouble codes display me as having none, but CEL is on, and I know its the P0420 cat code. Attempting to clear goes through the motions, but does not clear it. Also, wheel speed displays 0/-36 0/-36. Still can't adjust clock, but everything else appears to be working and giving good values.

Console still acting strange, gettting similiar repeating messages to what I posted earlier.

Coming along nicely, please don't take this as anything but working with you, and appreciating the time you put in.

K, as far as text goes, I disabled "ALT" mode just because I want to make sure that screen posting works before enabling things that write to the RxDuino (text editing, MIL clearing, etc). If you want to edit text, type "TXT MyTextHere" (without quotes) into the console.

As far as the random console text, that is just debug stuff incase someone was having an issue I could take a look. It will be disabled in the next build.

So just because I forget, do you have the stock radio installed? Sorry for having things disabled, I just want to make sure that we have the RxDuino running as most basic as possible to weed out radio issues

Btw thanks for catching the wheel speed error. Fixed that in the next build.

I really need to help test this thing out with you guys. I've flashed RxDuino_7_17_2012_06_04_pm.hex and will try it out on the way to work tomorrow.

Crap. I had issues with my wires exposing itself so I opened it up and saw that the orange wire had broken off. I guess that's why it hasn't worked for me in a while.

Dammit. Count me out for a while until I can get someone to solder it for me, I have no skills with that.

Paimon, can you confirm that the wire belongs on pin 9?

EDIT: Gonna take it to work tomorrow and see if any of my co-workers can fix it.

To be clear, the only thing that works for me in the console is updating the firmware, and getting the initial connection. No console commands seem to register for me, I submit them, but there is no feedback for any command listed when typed into console.

Stock radio is not installed.

To be perfectly honest, the most important part of this for me is not the text, I could live without that. I will be happy with the ecu monitor and the code reader working with the ability to clear codes, as well as the + button working without rapidly and repetitively flicking it. I will continue to run through the parameters for each build I can though, for most thorough testing.

Ah crap I wish I saw this before I left the house. I just sent my gf a text message to check the schematic for me at home. I will let you know as soon as she responds.

Thanks for the feedback. It is very interesting that the commands are not working for you in the console, we may have to do a joinme session at some point to figure that one out.

Once I get some feedback for the radio guys, the next step will be to fix the "+" button. Once we get that stuff going, I will re-enable the rest of the options.

Sounds like a plan. My work schedule doesn't usually allow for me to be home til around 7:30 or 8 most evenings. But if we can work a joinme, that would be excellent.

Great, I will be more than happy to work around your schedule. How does tomorrow at 8 sound? I have an event to go to tonight so tonight wouldn't work.

I am just waiting on some of the radio folks to report back before i enable MIL scanning and ALT modes.

Paimon - the latest nightly is the best so far for me.
I get some screen flickering at initial startup maybe for a minute or so, then the display settles down and works fine. It almost feels like there is a fight between the radio and rxd with rxd eventually winning. The radio is then no longer able to display anything on the screen even if I unplug RxD. The latest display info just stays on the screen until I cycle the ignition on/off.

Alright thanks for the feedback. What I am currently doing is checking to make sure there is no message on the bus before the Rxd sends a message, but looks like I am not doing it enough. The goal here is to not trump on the radio (Which is what is happening since you said the radio doesn't post anymore). I will keep at it, but I am glad that this is working the best so far.

Mike;

Mind trying this firmware?

http://www.therxduino.com/nightly/Rx...2_06_04_pm.hex

I offset the timing of the rxduino. Hoping that this reduces the trumping of the radio.

I managed to resolder my wire, pretty nasty job, but I am sure it'll work. Forgot to bring my USB cable so I can flash a newer firmware at work, but I'll deal with it and try it in my car when I leave work tonight.

It's working fine.

I have no idea what firmware I am on, but the device seems to be working perfectly, except that the up button doesn't respond, and it has a tendency to switch on it's own to other displays, favoring MPG for some odd reason.

I will flash the latest nightly, and see if it makes any difference if the rain stops here in NY.

Just flashed the latest nightly, but the RxDuino console is just repeating RPM over and over...any idea why?

Going down to test this now.

It does that because i disabled the check to see if it is connected to the car. You can go back a few pages and see that there are a few things disabled, mainly to see how it handles for the Radio guys

Ah! I remember that now.

Using RxDuino_7_19_2012_06_04_pm.hex:

Almost there! I can change screens, and no weirdness with changing sensors (although I wasn't driving) but - after about a minute or so, I lose the ability to change modes within a screen. Almost perfect!

For example, if I go into Tire Pressure, I can scroll to tire 3, but then I have to wait a minute, then I can scroll to tire 4 or move step. Then it seems up and down no longer responds.

Interesting. I will take a look at that asap. Working on some new updates to the console app. Added some configuration parameters and the ability for me to post a message of the day if you are connected to the internet (Basically it will be a good way for me to communicate with people if there is an urgent matter of sort).

Gave the RxDuino_7_19_2012_06_04_pm.hex a go the other night (and demoed to others at a local meet in the UK - some interest here when the bugs are ironed out!).

1) Stability in the "random" switching seems to have been solved - I don't recall any occasions where it flipped out of the mode I expected. Well done! :-)

2) Still kills BT on my 2009

3) Fighting with the OEM radio still seems to occur - was fine the first time, but every time I demoed it to somebody I had to try a couple of times for a stable display. The fighting was not as bad as it use to be - just the radio/cd filckering the display a bit - once "locked in" it never seems to recover from this?

4) MPG seems to be a bit more accurate () - but still fluctuates a bit - some filtering required. Didn't try the AVG MPG. I assume it is still in US Gallons calibration (in which case I will have a shock when the Imperial version reads "lower" on average!).

5) Fuel Level - also seems more stable - but again still fluctuates by about 20% - often depending on acceleration or incline, I think? Needs some filtering.

6) Fuel Level - I ran to a nearly empty tank - 64 Litres refuel into a 65 Litre tank(!)... It read 4/5% at the lowest... Upon a refill, read 95% max. Does this need calibrating, somehow?

7) Wheel Speeds - out of interest I took them above 99 (I'll have to say this was done on private land, in case plod are reading!). Of course it works - and as expected "overruns" the display - not much to do about that

8) TPS maxes at 75% (max throttle through a range of gears) - I assume this is the calculated TPS that he ECU manages and puts out? Haven't tried it with DSC / TC off though.

9) A feature suggested was "Miles (or kilometers) till empty" - but that will depend on having a stable MPG and fuel level reading.

Thanks for the updates Sean! Will work on resolving these issues.

In other news:

Changelog:
- Configuration manager added
- - Allows user to disable internet based checks
- - Disable case sensitivity on commands
- - Remember COM port between sessions
- Improved update checking
- Fixed installer to allow you to perform updates to the software without having to uninstall previous version
- Added descriptions to COM ports for those who have multiple devices connected
- Allow user to view log file

Instructions
- Uninstall previous version of RxDuino Console
- Download new version from RxDuino Console « The RxDuino
- Install, enjoy!

Update
Not sure if it is just me, but the app crashes on my work PC, but it could be due to some random settings I have for some work apps. Works fine at home. Did anyone manage to install it before I took down the link? If not, please shoot me a PM and I will send you the EXE if you would like to test it before I make it widely available.
