Gday guys
Will a Series I steering wheel fit into in a Series II while retaining airbag and audio control functionality?

The other way round: S2 (R3) wheel into S1?
Hi all,
I am resurrecting this thread, since I have got a 03 S1 and managed to get my hands on the steering wheel (as well as clockspring and switch body). I now want to use it in my S1, but putting it in always triggers a airbag error (one short flash, nine short flashes).
I am aware, that there is only one airbag connector in the S2‘s clockspring and gas generator, opposed to the two the S1 has. I am also aware, that there is a workshop manual for the S1 in the web. Although the rhythm could indicate several different causes.
my question is now, if anyone already has done this conversion, encountered this problem and found a solution to that.
Cheers,
Biwwl
