Craig and Disco, I would like you both to send me back your kits so I can examine them and see WTF may be going on. BHR is not Toyota.......
I am also in the process of urging our electrical terminal supplier to redesign the coil terminal to our specifications for better durability.

Please also drop a brief note in the box reminding me of your RX8Club username and why it is being returned. I don't need a recap of the whole story but something like "please examine for warranty issues" will remind me what is going on. I will then let you know what I find and what I am doing to fix it, and when it will be shipped back.

Is it the physical wire that is insulated that is breaking or is it the connector that is breaking from the wire causing the connection of the wire to fail?

While you're at it, tell Mazda to include a Sohn adapter, BHR coils, no cat and AP lean tune with higher OMP rates, oil cooler fans, REmedey water pump, and a 16x conversion kit for Series I cars. Anything else I'm forgetting?

Am I saying one is better than the other no, we may be using the same ones and we (Race Roots) haven't heard anything about it one way or the other in terms of wires breaking. So who knows.
I look forward to seeing what Ray comes up with.

Now this is making sense to me. I don't see why it didn't click sooner.
I was thinking of the OEM terminals for the OEM wires. The issue stems from the D585 coil connection. Yes we do make coil wires for them but we really only made like 6 sets all together if that.
I only know of one person on the board still using them and I was talking to him the other day and he would have told me if he had issues. I mean he did have an issue with the length but never the connection.

To be fair here i have a girlfriend and she never complains about the length...
i actually don't think i have ever disconnected them but i like being a test mule so when i get a part in the mail this week i will be putting in my new/used AEM and will pop them off as i want to adjust the bracket slightly to allow for more slack in the plug wires themselves. they fit, they just have a little bit of tension on the 2 leading wires and it's because i made my own bracket and i was in a bit of a rush when actually installing it so it just needs a tweak.

The problem, in my opinion, comes from the way an user may try to disconnect the wires by leveraging the angle of the terminal since said terminals have a very tight fit. I had to remove my wires several times and the terminal are still perfect, other users broke theirs the first time they had to remove them
Being patient while removing or installing the wires really makes the terminal a non issue imho!

i'm not going to take them off just to test out the "theory/truth" i have to readjust the coil bracket to make a little more slack on the wires. this is why they will be coming off. i'll try to only disconnect the spark plug end but that may make things a little tricky. I also may leave things as they are and only fix them after i have a problem if i ever do. we'll see, it is supposed to rain tomorrow so i may just slap the AEM on tonight and forget about the coil bracket
