Clicking noise from right rear?

Alright guys I've searched around and found a could be possible answer to this but was wondering if anyone else ever experienced it with thier s2. When i back out of my driveway or take off sometimes i hear a clicking sound from the right rear of the car. It's not cv joint loud it sounds more like the dust shield or something for the brakes.

It does it no matter if I'm depressing the brake or not. I found a M Tip online that was for an 04 that said the fix was to take the wheel nut off, anti sieze the washers and reinstall a new rear axle nut to 173 ft lbs. I bought some new nuts and am going to give that a try. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue though?

I guess if I cant come up with anything and this doesn't fix it I'll just get it looked at when I have my second smart card programmed later this month. Thanks for the input as always :-P

I hear a clicking noise as well. It almost seems like it is the breaks sticking so I have been trying to park with it in gear instead of using the parking brake. It does not happen all of the time, but often enough. It only happens when once/day backing out of the garage in the morning.

I did rotate my tires on my own and did not have a torque wrench. I will have to give that a try.

The the lug nuts with a torque wrench. IIRC the torque specs for the lug nuts were increased to 100ft/lbs due to this issue.

Don't you need to apply lube to the wheel/hub interface too, to make sure it's completely silent?

Still does it with the lugs torqued to spek 9k, I'm going to do as both service bulletins suggest by replacing and lubing the axle nuts and also applying moly lube to the driveshaft/hub mating surface. I'll let you know if it works :-/

Alright so as an update, It appears that I had a rear strut failing. It started out as a light clicking and now it has evolved to a full blown popping/thud that is much louder. Car sits higher on the rh side and pulls to the right while driving down the road. If I lift up the car by the wheel well it makes the sound as well.
Just figured I'd update the thread so if anyone searches in the future they can have an idea to try :-) Thanks for all the suggestions everyone it was greatly appreciated!
