Man, I should've ordered these when I first got my R3. I guess it's better late than never, lol.

I believe I'll go ahead and place my order for these first thing in the morning.

Thank you for making this thread, paimon.soror.

Paimor, thank you.

I guess the additional lesson is that painting these is pointless? Unless of course you enjoy removing your bumper and repainting the grill every 2k...

Thanks man!

I got some and I'm getting them powder coated on the weekend.

Haha yup basically...good thing is that we get to see exactly how much crap hits those grills. Maybe some of that plastidip will make it more permanent?

My painted screens are also starting to look like the OP's. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

@ Texas RX8 R3: These are a MUST if you track your car, and I know you do. Chunks of track rubber will DESTROY your oil coolers. I've seen three inch chunks of rubber hit my windshield on the track and I know that same stuff is hitting the oil cooler screens. This goes for any S2 owner, install these first. You will thank yourself later. I spent 3+ hours fixing my damaged fins when I installed these. That is the most time consuming part of this mod, not removing the bumper.

As for painting, even with the paint getting chipped off Im still glad I did it, they are still less noticeable than all-silver. I think the Q-tip touch up is a good idea, pulling the whole bumper to repaint them is just not worth it imo. 2 days later they will just be banged up again.

Unless someone has an idea for a more permanent paint solution? I used that same high-heat auto-zone paint, even did 3 or 4 coats over a day, and the stuff is still chipping off.

So what is the verdict on the radiator/condenser screen? Does the stock screen protect the radiator/condensor? Replace it with the RB screen?

I want to order the oil cooler screens ASAP and figured I'd snag all the screens and the intake mods at one time. I had all of the RB screens on my 04 Sport Touring and all of my fins were pristine when I traded her in.

Man, I'm still under 1k miles on this car and I'm loving it.

I just ordered them all. After figuring out what the Ram Air will cover and where the stock screen ends, I decided it was best to get all of the RB screens. The stock screen simply is not tall enough. Plus I'll have the nose off to install the oil cooler screens and Ram Air, so why not just go with products I trust.

First Mod

Added these to my girl's new 2011 GT. Only one oil cooler since it is an Automatic but we went ahead and bought two and modded the plastic housing that would be where the second oil cooler is. No brainer and looks good too.
