These are parts diagrams In a Technical Thread about technical Issues.
The external picture of an 09 engine looks from the Hood No different, naked, no different, apart from EMOP's. that is it.
There are plenty of "pretty pictures" of the RENESIS Engine in this forum, try doing a search.

ASH, in regard to the "variable red zone" tach, do you have any info about how it functions?
Is it possibly tied to oil temp, or are the stages simply programmed to disappear at set time intervals?
Or something else entirely?

Mazda have always been concerned about coolant temp with cold rotaries and I am certain this is still the case with the Tacho red zone one, remember only TWO out of the 3 bars turn off as engine/coolant temp increases.
It is only an indicator to tell you why your cars PCM won't let you Rev hard.
For those interested this is my morning procedure.
Start car, immediately back out of carport (14 feet flat area), leave car running (Auto Choke), shut carport roller door, go through and lock house, get in car, the first red zone has gone...you can drive off, but I wait another 30 seconds or so for the actual temperature guage to move off the bottom, then I go, I keep her under 3000 RPM until the second red Zone light goes off, usually in half a mile or less.
A LOT WILL DEPEND ON YOUR Countries/Weather "SEASON".
IT IS Extremely IMPORTANT that you warm your car rotary up for longevity.
Although why would US/Canadian owners worry when they have an 8 year warranty.

Yes, both intake tubes are not there, neither are the two caps, obviously! (1010-13-104).
So, I am not sure where one would access the intake for any future "seafoam" clean outs.
Any Idea's?

any thoughts on how many miles before using seafoam/mazda stuff if we can find a way to do it. I had away used the vacuum hose into the throttle body

Behind OIL Coolers
OK, Many earlier asked if there has been a change in the oil cooler air flow gap behind the cooler itself, as we know with S2 the front oil cooler openings are larger.
This is my Series 2 RHF Wheel well, the gap between the oil cooler( rear) and the black inside outer wheel arch slash shield vent hole is 60 mm.
I can not tell you if there is a change as I do not have a Series One to compare it to...

My pic is RH Front yours is LH Front, I think there is a slight difference between both sides.
Mine is a Series II RX-8,yours is S1, the part numbers for these liners are different.
Take a look at your RH Front Liner.
Sorry, I don't have a pic of the LH Side Liner for Series II, and I am not going to take the wheel off at the moment to check.

Unfortunately, there is only 1 Mazda dealer within 80 miles of me, and they currently have NO RX-8s in inventory, Series II or otherwise, so I can't take a close look in person...

I noticed that the only 2010 vehicles listed by Mazda USA are the new Mazda 3.
When is your new MY cut in/off date, March/April? 09 isn't it?
