Might need a new manual tranny
Third gear is popping out for me. I had 3rd and 4th gear popping out fixed a little over 2 years ago (internal transmission work). I'm hoping the adjustment procedure will fix this issue this time, since it's just third gear; however, if I do need a new transmission, is there a place people here are getting their new Series II transmissions from? I see that Mazdatrix has it for a bit over $2100. The dealer wants $2917 for the hardware.

When I installed an S2 gearbox in my S1, I got mine from MazdaSpeed Motorsports Development for just shy of $2100 (including shipping and parts needed for retrofit).
If you've autocrossed your car twice in the last year you can register with them and get parts at wholesale prices.
Something this big and heavy will probably have to come via freight.

You can order online from this US Mazda Dealer and it should also include US shipping (see their free shipping above $200 policy).
Not certain on 'how' supplies (QTY) are, these transmission assemblies are no longer in production (individual OE parts are available for many years yet) which usually means any store supplies dwindle quickly.

This thread is of interest to me, since I'm also suffering from 3rd gear pop-out Will try the throw adjustment first, and see how that goes. My impression is that the issue is prevalent in MY 2009... At >2k for a new transmission, would it be more cost effective to have the transmission rebuilt? What about purchasing a used JDM transmission from later model years?
