Oil leak under crankcase

Hi all,

I recently got my rx8 serviced for oil change. When we removed the tray we saw that there is oil on the passenger side of crankcase. The mechanic mentioned oil came from upper side. Since they are not experts and do not know much about this model, they had no idea. So wanted to check it here first as first step of my research...

I attached the picture, any ideas?
Car is 2010 r3, with only 24000 miles.
Something to worry about? Which parts should I check?

I'd first make sure it's not a spill from someone adding oil, so check that it doesn't come back if cleaned up. What's up there are the oil injectors so if one of the OMP lines has cracked that could do it. Otherwise there's not a ton of oil pathways above there.

Thank you for the response. Can I easily inspect the omps and omp lines for leaks if intake is removed? Anything to be careful with, or to consider?

You need to remove the UIM or get a boroscope to look under it. Removing it isn't terrible but not trivial either.
