Didn't think it was really possible on an S2 either, but what do I know.
Thought the S2 ran it back to the maintenance ports?
Anyway.......on an S1 type.........pouring too fast can lead to this a well.
There's only one real cure guys.
Do the oil change yourself. Don't rely on what the manual says you need, as we all know that varies depending on how you drain it and how much you get out. Oil is supposed to be added slowly while checking the dip stick, not just pouring "X" amount in!

I still makes absolutely no sense why on the S2 they would go back to the '04-'05 hose routing.

Or you can add the catch can and pour the oil as fast as you want! My filler neck to catch can tube runs up hill, so even if oil were to get into that tube, it drains back into the oil filler neck.

Edit:
Yeah... I would track down that other hose and see where it goes, see if it goes into the intake the somehow... there is no way oil is coming up through the LIM back up to the accordian tube... so its gotta be sucking into the intake from somewhere.

Yeah, I'd agree with Vyn.........track it down!
Just for grins, I do have an extra powder coated black catch can for sale is anyone wants it! https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/f-s-various-stuff-163778/
Wow......that the first good look of an S2 engine bay I've seen. I can spot quite a few differences. Question..........is that strut bar OEM?

I agree and I spotted that as well.
Is that hole open.....meaning not plugged up?
I wonder if it should be?
If it is open, it sure seems to me that it would be sucking in a little hot engine bay air.
