UK Premature Wear!!!!

Hi Guys

Can't seem to find any info so thought i would just ask so i am sorry if this has already been covered.

Basically in my role of Mazda and dealer liaison for the Mazda RX8OC in the uk we are experiencing some premature wear of the drivers seat on the R3.
So basically are you guys experiencing the same as I am writting to mazda to see what they say on the matter and it would be an advantage if you guys have been through this already.

Please could you advise the outcome if any. As we dont seem to be getting anywhere with the dealers over here.
All the descriptions state the seats are leather but leather shouldn't wear out surely.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Mark.

You can't get in and out in that recaro like a normal car. You have to either lift up or go in head first. If it's treated like normal side entry it will wear.

yep, you have to sit your butt in the bucket first then move your legs in. kinda hard to go the one leg in butt side movement.

Yep. I have it too. I didnt pay attention to how i was getting in till i noticed the small wear on the bolster. Doubt it is something covered under warranty. Its not a defect.....just a side effect lol

Don't feel bad I have the grand touring and I have the same problem with the leather I've been doing the same as RX8pwnage. the dealer told me it's not cover under warranty as it's consider regular wear and tear

RRRRRRRRRRRight... Wear and tear over < 1 year?! This kind of stuff pisses me off...
I believe that 911s have Recaro manufactured seats. It would be extreamly surprising to hear about a sales shmo telling someone who purchased a 80k car that his one year old seats are suppose to wear like that...

Speedy36

Could you refer us to someone in the US who might be doing the same for our region? It would be helpful so some of us can get something done about this.

Questions:

- Are our Mazda Recaro seats of lesser quality than you might see in a retail sold seat? These are what some would call a prestigious manufacture of automotive seats. I can't believe that we are having these kind of issues in < 1 year...

Thank you Sir!

Had an answer on a few of these similar issues over here.

Three out of 5 have been honored by Mazda Uk as faulty but the others have been told like you say wear and tear.

TBH general wear and tear is a pants excuse as in my series 1 rx8 didnt show any wear what so ever. ok the bolsters were not as prominant but hey its the designers that should take all this in to account.

I am waiting for new seat or covers to come.......that was ordered 5 weeks ago. typical.

not really sure what to suggest if you guys have the same issues other than pushing it through various means.

cheers and sorry for not getting back to you all.

As mentioned. All Recaro seats have this problem.

No way to stop it. There are recaro seats that are better design. Made for street use.

I some in the special editioon of the Mitsubishi TSR ( Chrysler Conquest ).

Sure sounds like regular wear and tear to me. Idk what your expecting but I doubt Mazda will do anything about it.
