Looking for rear 2-piece brake rotor set. Obvious options available to me are Autoexe and Project Mu. Price point is about the same.
I do own a Brembo GTR 4 piston rear caliper / 2-piece rotor kit (designed for Bergenholtz Racing purchased used) but it eliminates the e-brake and I'm not quite there with the car yet (if ever). Maybe someone has a good idea how to implement this in a functional / reliable manner?

I was able to get Flyin Miata to work with me on a Wilwood e-brake caliper NC Miata conversion, but they decided not to offer it to anyone else. Which I still had to build/machine the rotors and hats for it.
this is the only kit I know of that will fit on an RX8; it’s for the NC Miata and has a separate e-brake caliper, but should bolt onto the RX8 rear hub
Going to go with the AE rotors. While I have no direct experience with their brake products, I think overall they're a quality brand and I've got a bunch of their parts already. No more complicated than that I suppose.
Update 11/21- after some careful consideration, I decided to go with Project Mu instead. While AE does offer a great product, they typically come at a price premium and their range of pad options wasn't varied in comparison. On second thought it was a no-brainer; the service parts are easy to get, not too expensive (imo), wide range of pads options plus Pmu was another brand I always wanted to try. SCR-Pro rotors with Racing 999 and Type HC plus pads.
11.6 lbs each. The quality of the finished product / material and hardware is extremely high. I wish my Wilwood or Stop Tech had anywhere near this attention to deal and I've never had such nice part boxes. There's most certainly a reason Mu comes with a reputation, let's hope it delivers on track.

Mu disclaimer stating rotors may "cause faster brake pad wear and cause some brake noise." Wonder how thick the hats are compared to oem? I'll measure the Mu's tomorrow. Running spacers is less than ideal. Figured I'd get a nice hat as well
almost 3 lbs heavier than the rear rotor I made above, but they probably have better heat capacity for extended track use
those hats looked thicker than the OE rear hats.

Wow that's a substantial difference! I certainly would've considered this option over the Mu solely based off weight alone. With the 8 primarily focused on time attack, I would've gladly traded the effective longevity / temp management for the reduced static / unsprung weight.
I'll make sure to write down A / B track temp observations and driving impression(s) if any) between oe rotor and Mu and share!
Got around to measuring the Brembo rear rotors. Wow they're huge by comparison. Hats are 6.88-6.95mm, current ring 28.06mm (after 1 weekend of comp (min is 27mm), weighing at 14.2 lbs ea.
