I believe god hates me??!?!
I believe i should have my '10 R3 revoked from me from the rotary gods but i got curb rash w/ 1600miles . . . . . . . please bare with me. I looked over the area and thank god that the R3 rims are like $800 a peice & high quality or else i think i'd have some harsher curb rash but anyways. The curb rash is like a 1/10 of an inch wide not even and its on the lip of rim 1 rim. I've done my fair share of reparing alloy rims but seeing as these are a bit more....expensive i was wondering how i should approach this. What i'd ususally do ----
(keep in mine this is more of a scratch rather than a dented scratched, it just took some paint off but didnt scratch downward into the rim)
--- I'd tape around the area and give a bit of slack on each side of the scratch and clean/sandpaper it with a couple sounds of sanding w/out puddy until its smooth then just like 3-4 paint coats and some scratch filler and clear coat.
Should I take this approach with these rims? I'll be posting pics in about like 30min or so. May the rotary gods be with me.

you just rashed your WHEELS. There is no such thing as a RIM on a stock RX-8.
Regardless - you are screwed now as it could be very dangerous to drive the car with damaged wheel. You better go buy new wheels. Get a hold of me offline and I will take your dangerous wheels out of your hands...at No Charge to you ! Just looking out for your safety. And my desire for R3 wheels. Ha
