XXR 522 on r3
Since my R3 didnt come with the sweet factory ones ive been looking into some new ones..
Ive had XXR 527s on my rx7 and I really like them so I was looking into getting some more XXRs but maybe the 522 since I can get them in 19s...
the only question I have is if I get 19x8.5 in front would 19x10 be to big for the backs?
I guess if I went 19x8.5 with a +15 offset in front and 19x8.5 with a +38 offset that would work to.. wouldnt it?

No, but the rears would weigh about 30 lbs. I wouldn't waste your money man, there's a guy on here selling a nice set of 19" Ro_Ja's, I would go that route before this. Don't do it man, it's an R3.

I just copied and pasted the message he sent me, its pretty cool to know more of the background!~
Hey, I happen to live a few miles up the road from where you got your car, and I've talked to the original guy who purchased the car from insurance auction and got it ready to put back on the road.
Anyway, there is a place in Farmington, Utah (about ten miles north of Bountiful where I assume you bought the car) called Corvette Recycling. They make a handsome living parting out totaled Corvettes. While looking for Corvettes they came accross your RX-8. Not knowing any better they bought it thinking they could easily replace the stolen bits, and turn it around and make a good profit. Then they went to a Mazda dealer to get replacement OEM seats and wheels only to find out that OEM Recaros, and OEM BBS wheels cost a fortune. (seriously the Recaros cost ~$10,000 from a Mazda dealer, and the wheels are somewhere around $5,000.) At that point they realized they had a problem, so they threw the cheap wheels on it and started looking for used Recaros. Being in the salvage car business what they came accross for the seats was this, a totaled 2009 R3, with a good set of seats in it. They pulled the seats for your car and are still trying to sell what is left of the 2009 R3.
This all happened last Spring/Summer. Corvette Recycling kept your car around until sometime this spring when Auto Source got ahold of it to sell.
How do I know all this? Well, I looked at your car and am still considering buying the 2009 R3 (which gave up it's seats to your car) and re-building it. Also it might help you get a clean title if you call Corvette Recycling and talk with them about the history, they know more than I do.
Enjoy the car!

That kinda sucks... you didn't pay much less than a Clean Title'd 2010-2011 R3 and you got used seats and no BBS.
So in actuality, you saved no money and eliminated your warranty.

the car only had 200 miles on it so im not to disappointed, a clean title would let me sell it for more than I bought it for..
An 09 R3 with 9,000 miles on it is going for 29,000.
I think I got a pretty good deal, but to each his own.
