Now that SS8 is over, What you like to have seen/done to make it better?

Don't really think the 2 p.m. was the problem.

So no need to fret about how your 8 is hooked-up next year! It's not about the show, but about the experience!!

Here's an idea!
Have an area set aside with Rx-8 "experts" to help with removing and installing our front noses. Could be sponsored by RB and they would sell a lot of screens and intakes that way. As I looked at the screens, another RX-8 owner looked as well and mentioned to his daughter, "I want these but I don't want to remove the nose".
Yes, I know its not hard. And skill is there - I've done a frame up on my Triumph. But restoring a trashed car is a lot different than dis-assemblying a perfect one.

It's about ROTARY LOVE, not show cars.... although we like the nice cars and hope they show up early so we can showcase them.

A picnic with out a BBQ? How about a couple of 55gallon drums with full size pigs?
Mazda nuts will come around from miles away just to eat the food!

It was good this year, but it did seem less people showed up... wonder why that was. I've been to the last 3 SS.. and this one did seem like less people showed.

If there is a new stand alone ECU being showcased at SS9... i will be there in a hearbeat.
Oh, and the Rev it Up/SS sounds like a good idea. Most rotary owners can rev it up on their own at any local autocross but very few do. Mazda Rev It Up comes around, and everyone goes nuts... i dont get it. Anyways, i think it'll be a good way to bring alot more people in.

Of course, you didn't say how long it would take to put it back on!

I feel the chance to see and speak to Mazda racing history was enough to attend. Never have so many Mazda 4-rotor and Prototype racers been exhibited at one place at the same time. Also, how often does one get to speak to Mazda engineers, management, and famous racers and personalities. Also the freshly restored 792P was a sight to behold in itself.
The trip was more than worth it just to meet Jim Downing and his wife Connie. Two people which have played huge rolls in Rotary racing in North America for 3 decades.
For RX-8 owners, like yourself who auto-x, the chance to check-out in detail the SCCA National B-Stock Championship RX-8, and speak to it's driver, should've been of great attraction.
And last but not least, meeting up with all of your fellow Forum members, almost makes it worth it alone! Not to mention being part of the world's largest rotary gathering!
The funny thing is that Racing Beat had a bigger exhibition/display this year at the show, and even showed their new body kit. Not sure on the new products though. There were several RX-8s that had new mods, and tire/wheel combos, which looked very interesting. A few turbo cars also.....
I'm sorry that there was new RX-8 stand alone ECU being showcased at SS-8... maybe next year, eh? We did have the new WOLF ECU for RX-7s there..

This is all per our crack reporter Dan at RN.COM
"Antonio in a very nice VR RX-8 was first to line up on Reynolds, across the street from R&D, arriving at 5:10 in the AM"
