NYCGPS to SS13 !

Just checked it on Mapquest. From my zip code to the SS13 location ...

2787.47 miles ~~~~ 42 hours and 42 minutes ! 1 WAY !!!

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Fore...638&2v=ADDRESS

what Im going to bring :

- 12-15 Quarts of 20w50 Synthetic Oil (Redline or Eneos or RP or 15w50 Mobil1)
- 2-3 Mazda Oil filters (Oil change!)
- 4 Jackstand, a small Jack and some tools (for oil change or something else?)
- 5 bottles of Idemitsu premix
- 1 pack of Poland Spring (24 or 36 count
- 2 Prestone 50/50 (I can get these stuff anywhere, again just in case)
- 1 Spare tire (Just in case ...)
- Me, Myself, and I.

Gonna start the trip on probably Sept 15th. if Im going by myself, I most likely won't stop for hotel too much. just gonna keep driving. and if its getting late or getting tired, just gonna pull off the roads and take a nap. Hope nobody kills me that time.

Thats all I can think of right now, if I miss anything that you guys think I might need, please feel free to leave a msg here :P

Hmm ... this is going to be extremeeeeEEEEEEEEE ! like 5-6 K miles round trip y0 !

You know, you could at least meet up with us 3

https://www.rx8club.com/sevenstock-archive-186/riwwps-ss13-trip-successful-8-330-miles-197270/

Don't have to do the full trip, but you wouldn't be doing the trip out alone.

Right now it is myself, Vlaze, and Adamwzl. I would be leaving the earliest, linking up with Vlaze in CT, if you come then linking up with you as we pass NYC, then around mid-day link up with adamwzl.

It will require pushing hard the 15th and 16th (18hrs per day for me, less for each of you on the 15th, 18hrs for everyone on the 16th) to get into Phoenix the night of the 16th, so we can join that group for the last day of driving into LA on the 17th. Then join the massive Socal caravan to SS early on the 18th.

Without pushing hard, and dropping back to 16hr days, we would be 4 hours short of Phoenix, and miss their group, though still arrive in LA on the 17th with time to spare.

The night of the 15th will be around St. Louis. We haven't picked a hotel yet, honestly hoping to find a fellow rotorhead there that is willing to put us up for the night. Leaving early is certainly an option as well. I won't be able to leave any earlier, probably will be starting around 4am on the 15th as it is.

(If a train leave Denver headed east at 56 MPH......sorry)

If you leave on the 14th, drive 14 hours, then 14 hours on the 15th. You will be 10 hours ahead of us by the end of the 15th. If the same 14/18, then you will get to Phoenix 6 hours ahead of us on the 16th.

I mean, do what you have to do, if you aren't willing to do 18 per day, but more than a few hours shifting total and we won't meet up at all until at least Phoenix, if not Sevenstock

Just something to keep in mind.

If I had a few grand lying around, guts to take my 8 on a trip longer than 100 miles, and no class; I would definitely come with. Pointing out the impossible right now .

I guess it depends. If you are an alcoholic, and go to a bar as a DD, can you stand it?

I'm not willing to go to Sevenstock without my 8. Too much torture. Others may be different than I.

lol no I don't drink

its just that all the women around me (!!!!!!) kept bitching about my decision. Well they have a point, its a lot of money and time wasted (!!!)

but women just don't understand the relationship between us and our 8 ... they will never understand our love ...

So ... lemme think, still got some time.

Don't label it as the cost of gas and wear and tear. Label it as the cost of creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

I am sure if you take a peek at their expenses, there is a hell of alot that they spend money on with less reasoning, less memories, less lasting value, etc...

No, if you point that out, and they acknowledge it, and STILL have issues with you going from a cost perspective, then they are just objecting to you spending the money on something other than them

If my trip ends up being canceled due to job change, then consider getting the guy that is currently planning on being my co-driver. He is northern NJ near I-287. Cuts costs down. (See my thread for the info on that)

To women, the above means "blah blah blah"

I am sure if you take a peek at their expenses, there is a hell of alot that they spend money on with less reasoning, less memories, less lasting value, etc...
To women, the above is always right, gotta do whatever it takes to make them happy, even if she forgets the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.

This is the main point ... I think

Gotta wait and see what happens. Will keep the info in mind. Thx
