Maybe some clothing?

In all seriousness though
alcohol wipes,
a light blanket,
a jacket that would be suitable for 35 and above,
Gloves,
tissues,
2 or 3 cases of of water
Fix a flat
a rain pancho
2 pillows one for your lower back one for your neck (while sleeping in the 8)
a box of granola/protein bars
Gatorade and water are your friend,

when you fill up at gas stations stretch your legs each time.

I would save space and bring 2 jack stands.
try to stay away from using AC,
stay away from energy drinks,

I drive cross country allot and I always find myself in weird places and situations. one time I got stuck going up a mountain in Colorado. luckily I brought stock tires (on my 300zx) swapped them out in the middle of a storm and got down the mountain safely. Ive also overheated/car randomly stalled in Baker in 108 degree weather, luckily I had 4 gallons of water with me.

In September when you cross Colorado you will hit around 33-35 degree temps at night. In Vegas you'll hot around 90. I basically like to be prepared in case i get stuck in my car for a long period of time for any reason.

With that said pack light. Like the oil 12-15 qts might be a bit overkill, id bring enough for one oil change.

Just be prepared. and try and hit southern Utah during the day time or sunset its beautiful.

I'm still doing my haul to SS13, but don't think any of it would line up with yours pre-Phoenix, if you don't fly.

Would be leaving here after work on the 14th, driving to NJ, picking up my co-driver, he drives through the night while I sleep, I drive the next day, we stop in Tulsa for the night, Phoenix the next day for the AZ caravan.

My sister is flying in to LA from MN to join me up the west coast and then back down to CO (it looks like), where I drop her off at my brother's and drive back home solo, getting home on the 25th probably.

Now I think 80% chance that I will take the plane ... if I have a co-driver I might change ...

oh well. almost time to buy the ticket ...

oh by the way, are you guys gonna leave right after the show or ? cuz I was thinking of visiting places like Racing Beat and stuff? dunno yet.

My co-driver is flying back on his own now. My sister is joining me for the additional drive and we are leaving early the day after. I would like to stick around a day, do some LA canyons and the cruise they are planning, but if I did, it would remove flexibility and delay padding from our route, and I could easily risk not getting home until sunday the 26th.

I doubt they are open that day, they are usually closed on Saturdays. Same with Mazdatrix. I think the socal crew might be going bar hoping for an afterparty.

nycgps: Racing Beat will be AT SevenStock (or at least they have been for the past 5 years) so going there afterwards is out.
They typically are closed on Sundays unless they're showing a select few some super secret mazda prototype stuff on sunday.
