Prices for Scott's stuff was announced but sadly it's a little bit pricey:
Type 1 Kit including Int X is 7995.
Type 2 kit including Int X is 9995.
Type 3 kit including Int X is 8500.
The difference between the kits is turbo placement, intercoolers and the amount of power they'll put out. All of them are listed for up to 400rwhp though they're still working on the tuning.
The type 2 kit is really impressive when you look at it. There will also be a type 4 kit soon.
We did see the AFSC on richard's car. We saw quite a few different versions of the supercharger itself.
There was some very concrete stuff announced just now at the banquet. Mazda will be announcing a new mazdaspeed vehicle next week! We heard that from the head of mazdaspeed (he was drunk). He wouldn't tell us which one because there were some press people there but he said it would be announced next week.

I hope the new engine is beast making 400hp easy

The price may be high, but it's not overpriced. It's innovative. When they were dynoing this kit, it put down 304 whp at 6psi and 335 or so at 8psi with EXTREMELY conservative timing. California gas sucks.
The fact is, all of these kits will end up being good for 400 horsepower at some level. We just need to see a dyno that shows it.

no- no Racing Beat header yet Kevin- they have the flange done and for sale to make your own and they have the primaries but no collectors yet. we expect to see something of that at Racing Beat this morning when we go there for the open house.
There is some news on the Kabura- but the person who knows it is no tsharing at the moment. ive tried to get him to talk twice now and will try again today if i see him. may take awhile to get anything out of him.
also i tried to get an answer on the debut at the LA auto show but the Koby truly didnt seem to know. Possibly its only a design study.
Ajax (jon) and i got kicked out of the Lobby by security yesterday but later in the day a security guy opened the back dooor and allowed me to go through a hall to the lobby to get over to the Cafeteria for the Speed Source tech section. There was a white Mazdaspeed car with sort of tribal flames on it on a stand but it had no FI.

here are some more pics:
to start with enjoy the sign as you walk into the outside air from our hotel. Apparently, it is known to cause cancer in lab animals. I love this state. to start with here is the old R&D facility location and the new corporate office pics.
notice the downed tree in front of the R&D building.....we couldn't quite figure that out.

Next set of pics, are some select pics of the event in general, Mazdatrix's 13B motorcycle, and the speed source ST and GT cars. The white car is the new 3rotor GT car that will be fielded next year in the Rolex GT series. Its a tube frame car with a carbon shell that looks like an RX8.

here are some shots of the engine bays of the Speedsource cars, a pic of the main stage with our honored Japanese guests, the BK Courage car and Scott's beautiful type two turbo kit with the air to water intercooler.

Very very nice - (most of that goes to Mazsport's kit)
A bit pricey but when you factor OUT the cost of the IntX that brings it to about 6500. Still quite a bit but for something that has potential no mater what "type" you buy to hit 400HP at the wheels?
I can't wait for Scott to update his website and put all the juicy bits of detail we crave.
I was crunching numbers on "how soon can I get this" haha and it seems with the tax money I will be getting back and a combination of working for another month or two and putting everything towards this kit I could get it and still maintain the financial security i have.

Since nobody else is spilling the beans, here is what Richard Paul told me when I talked to him at SS9:
By the way, did anyone else see the Enzo in the piston parking lot before the show started? That is such an amazing car...
- The AFSC is very close to being done, and he is just working out some tuning bugs.
- The SC will come with a tool to reflash the stock ECU to RP's preset maps.
- He did not give me any power or torque numbers, only that he is still tuning it, and the included flash will be 5hp or so less than what the AFSC is capable of, for reliability reasons.
- It will cost $4,300
- RP estimates that it will be done in a few months.
