SevenStock 15 - Feedback Request
Alright guys, now that we've all had a few days to digest the event, go through pictures, catch up on sleep, etc, the SS Organizers and I would like to hear from You.
What did you like best from SS?
Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Thoughts on the Venue?
What went well?
Did you enjoy the caravan?
What could have gone better?
Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
At the end of the day, all of our hard work is so that we can put on an excellent event for all of You so we want to hear your thoughts on how we did.
**prepares with flame suit nearby in case this gets ugly** Either way, be honest please

^Are you seriously asking this?? lol - i thought by now you guys could have figured it out. This past sevenstock was MOTHER F*CKING AWESOMEEEE
but for the sake of formalities...here's my opinion
* What did you like best from SS?
The activities. There was so much to look at and so much to do that there was never a dull moment for me. Imo, the addition of the ride-alongs and the opportunity to get your car on the track was very alluring. ROtaries belong on the road n' it was great to see professionals, intermediate drivers and soon to be track junkies hit the road together. Personally, it was a ton of fun seeing good friends hit the track n' get their feedback. Very very cool.

Thoughts on the Venue?
Excellent. I personally hope you guys have it here next year. Yes it was a bit further out of the way but it was definitely worth it.
What went well?
The roll-in was pretty cool - i liked rolling in the way we did because it gave an opportunity for everybody to get some attention. (ego strokin')
Also - Letting those monsters on the track was FREAKING AWESOME. yes, hearing them pop back and revving up in the past has been cool - but actually seeing them in action was AMAZING.
Did you enjoy the caravan?
lol...when is our caravan not fun? lol
* What could have gone better?
- Perhaps next year for the caravan we could designate a leader per each row of cars so we can keep everybody closer together.
- Imo, have the courtyard more 'center stage' n' off the dirt. I was trying to take more pics n' i was having a rough time because there was so much in the way (Tent poles, ropes, uneven pavement). Also, maybe include some more builds - I <3 those old schoolers.
- WHOEVER THE HELL THE MIC MAN WAS NEEDS TO GO THE HELL AWAY...
*787 drives by*
Mic Man: "woooooooowwwww...."
"HAPPY MAZDA DAY!"
* Did you track? If so, how was that experience? N/A lol
Imo, the event was a smash hit. Hopefully with all the pics that are popping up n' the stories being told people will know better than to skip out on such an epic event.

What did you like best from SS?
This year it's hard for me to actually come up with something I liked best. It's really a toss up between catching up and seeing everyone and getting to see the 787 and 792 on the track. Overall I can't think of a dull time at the show. The sense of camaraderie and friendship and enthusiasm that seems to fill the air makes the event more than just an event and more like a family reunion of sorts.
Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Being that I have only been to SevenStock 14 and 15 I don't have much to base my opinion on, but I definitely enjoyed this year more than last.
Thoughts on the Venue?
Venue was great nice wide open area with plenty of space. Last year felt a little crowded at times. Having the ability to hit the track if I you chose added something special to the event and more for every one to do. Would love to see it here again, totally worth the long drive.
What went well?
Overall I can't think of anything I didn't think went well. From roll in to leaving I felt it was well organized.
Did you enjoy the caravan?
I love caravans, rolling in to an event in a line of other cars is an awsome thing. I do agree with Atilla that a few more leaders and smaller groups can definitely help. Once we hit the freeway everyone kinda got scattered for a bit.
What could have gone better?
This is a hard one to answer I overall really enjoyed the event and am having trouble thinking of something. I do think the announcer could have been a bit better too. Also it was kind of a disappointment watching everyone get ready for the parade lap just to turn around because they didn't have a helmet. I know this is track rules and not the organizers fault, next year everyone will know if the event is in the same location.

I didn't track for obvious distance reasons, but it is the number one thing I look forward to when I come out again. I want to rip around the track in my baby. Everyone seemed to be having a blast with that. And it was fun to walk around the pit looking at everyone prepping their ride.
Likewise with the roll in and caravan, however to make things smoother maybe see if next time people can pre-order their wristbands, or tickets, or whatever. You could have one line to just roll right in for pre-paid, and a second line for people to wait in. That way when every gets there they are there, hate to have people miss the opening cause of waiting in line.
Mazda support -> kickass, seeing the 4 rotors run made my airline tickets worth it.
I didn't think of it before but Greg's post made me think of it. Possible to have an area off to the side where people can get professional magazine/poster quality pics taken of their car. Just a blank area of pavement with a good view behind it and a professional photographer who can charge a fee. Similar setup to school photos where you can order them and they get delivered to you later. I'm sure plenty of girlfriends/others will be willing to pose for some cool looking prints.
My biggest complaint honestly was lack of food and drink vendors. I understand with 3000 people food lines will get long, but being in the desert having a water faucet, or drink cart, or someone selling water bottles out of a cooler could have streamlined things and cut down on people going into town for an hour to pick up water. Especially for northern boys like me. And if waiting in line for water is my biggest concern, you can consider the event damn near perfect in my eyes.

the only thing i can think of is the track announcer, and the ss announcer were cancelling each other out when they spoke at the same time. it was harder to hear the ss guys, a lot of people had no idea the raffle had started which means folks got to the stage late.
poor phil missed out on a part for a rx2. lol.
other then that no complaints.
oh and put small flags on the lead cars for the caravan this way
people will know who not to pass..

I am betting that WSIR has never seen the likes of this event! That driveway was CRAZY that morning!
We overwhelmed those poor suckers at the booth.
And we told them to be prepared! Put 10 people there that morning to help out, but they didn't listen...

Props to Atilla for the format! Here's my input:
* What did you like best from SS?
The caravan, the location (WSIR), and the activities. It was impossible to get bored with everything going on. The track time opportunity was awesome, but there were ride alongs for folks that didn't want to drive their cars out there - or for the people that did, the opportunity to ride in a race-prepped car.

I'll quote Atiilla here: Best.SEVENSTOCK.Ever.

Thoughts on the Venue?
Perfect. It was a long drive going from the OC, but totally worth it.
What went well?
Nearly everything. I'll address what didn't go well in the applicable section.
Did you enjoy the caravan?
LOVED IT!!!!
* What could have gone better?
- Appoint caravan leaders to keep everybody closer together. I'd like to see 8s roll with 8s, FDs roll with FDs, FCs with FCs, etc. Have lead cars for each category.
- Organization by WSIR personnel. The wait to get into the gate was way too long. They didn't seem ready to handle the volume of vehicles coming in.
- The weather was good, but it did get freakin' hot. Heat is not a good thing for a turbocharged rotary engine...! I know we've had some unseasonably hot weather, but is there a chance SS can be moved a month back - like October especially if it will be held in the high desert? If not, that's ok. I don't want to move Christmas to January, either!
* Did you track? If so, how was that experience? Not this time, but I will next year!

I need to say thank you for holding the event.
What did you like best from SS?
Meeting old friends and hanging with them.
Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
I have been going to SS for years. I enjoyed all the different venues. You hold it and I will try and make it. When I first started going the event was held at Mazda R&D.
Thoughts on the Venue?
Not a bad area and there were lots of things going on.
What went well?
The event seemed to go well. There was a little confusion at the begining but it soon strainged out.
Did you enjoy the caravan?
Was not able to make it. The area confused me and I could not find the start.
What could have gone better?
More food and drink vendors.
Did you track? If so, how waexperience?
No I did not......unable to wear helment in car. I may have to drop the drivers seat.
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Overall it was a very good experience - too bad I was ill and was unable to experience it as I would have liked.
