I have a 1966 Mustang notch-back with a 289CID V8 that I am looking to trade. I've lost interest in this car and don't have the motivation/desire to follow through with many years of planning on it. The car is a perfect project car or daily driver as it's mostly in original condition. The body is solid for a 40+ yr old car and the 289 is strong. There's plenty of potential in this car with very little $ it could become a show car, or a drag car or a trans-am vintage race car. I just do not have the interest and passion for this car that I did 20+ years ago when I took ownership of it. Since I became it's owner, it hasn't seen more than maybe 2 or 3K miles as it has always been a nice weather car. I will post pictures just as soon as I can get some current ones taken, (should be this week sometime).
I am looking for a trade first and foremost as $ is a bit tight for me atm and I'd rather leverage what assets I have already than to try and purchase something outright....
What am I looking for? That's a good question. Tell me what you have and I'll consider it. Here are a few guidelines and the methods behind how I'll prioritize offers should more than one be presented:
1) manual transmissions for anything other than an RX8. RX8s: I'll consider an auto with the paddles so my wife can drive it too, but will prioritize a manual over all other tranny options.
2) If it was an RX car, (RX 7 or RX8), must still be a rotary. No LS swaps etc.
3) I will prioritize a car with sports packages and or without sunroofs above ones that are touring and have a sunroof package.
4) I'm aiming for something like an FD3S RX7 or a nice RX8
5) I'm willing to consider non-Mazda cars too, but since this is a Mazda forum I focused on that for here.... My original goal was a Ver. 8 EJ207 powered Impreza but I've decided to branch out to see what kind of market there may be.
Let me know what you have if interested. The car's a good solid car that just needs a new home so I can move on to something I have more interest in.
Thanks!
