Thinking of throwing a car meet..
I work in Riverside in downtown and there's a couple of parking structures that would be awesome for small car meets and get togethers. Has anyone had any experience in getting permission or the green light from the cops to meet in a public parking area for a car meet? I wanna do this the right way so nobody feels pressure to show up with all kinds of illegal mods on their cars haha.

no need to ask the cops, I never did for any of the large meets I organized in SoCal.
speaking of which: you going to join us for SevenStock on Oct. 1st? It's pretty much in your back yard.
tips for your car meet:
find a big lot / parking structure that doesn't impede the parking needs of the businesses (ie; you can park way in the back and not disturb anyone)
make sure it's friendly to modified RX-8s: some of the cars in SoCal are loooooow
If you don't cause trouble (loud music, revv'ing engines, burnouts, etc) the police usually leave you alone.
you should check out the S.C.A.R. (SoCal All Rotary) meets and Brap Life; they throw monthly get togethers as well.

Make sure you clear it with the business management and or property owner first too. Without their approval, you can be removed. Police here assume you don't have approval, so I recommend something signed in writing.
