Yeah, I may have lucked out losing access to ethanol... The mirror attachment is not very good quality, unfortunately. But here is composite of the end of the camera and a pic in the motor. When I was moving it around and looking at it live the inside of the housing and side plates looked like a mirror...
What kind of premix were you using and how much? FWIW I ran E50 for a solid 3 months with Red Line alcohol premix 4oz per tank, December 2015 to March 2016 (easily a couple thousand miles) and my internals showed no sign of wear like that... But stock apex and corner seals. Not saying I disagree with the findings at all, just adding to the narrative. I think you are likely correct, it might just be the mix of ethanol and softer seals. Remove one or the other and no worries

I stopped using premix many years ago (just use omp at increased rate) and have not had any issues till now .
Get back on that horse my friend! may I dare say try again without ethanol? Switch back to WI? And settle for mid 300's which seem to be pretty safe with the experience we've gained...

Would be great if the mirror fell off in the engine
Pullin' for ya man! Any thoughts on seals and whatnot for this round?
yeah ... stock apexs , 25-30% ethanol, 14-15psi .
RPM seems to be the issue i'm having at the 400 power level . Need to restrict rpm to where power peaks then either drop the rev limit or drop off boost above that point.
All the bad stuff I've seen has been after peak rpm .... no sign of any issues before that with Ethanol.
Also, same here regarding RPM and problems. Both times I blew a motor was high in the RPM. I don't have any logs but I believe somewhere in the 6500-7500 realm...

stock rx7 seals .
I'm seeing definite issues as power passes peak ......... at around 7900rpm .
Damn, I'm glad I never went for the high ethanol blends. Are the Rx7 guys having this kind of problem, or is there more to it?
Yes they are ...with any aftermarket seal it seems . OEM doesn't seem to have the same issue . They are getting the lines but interestingly , the engines still hold compression.
Engine running great . Initial VD tests were disappointing but then I started experimenting quite a bit and and found that this engine responds to timing changes more than any other. Not sure if this will translate into more power yet as have not put it on the dyno.
