Used bhr ignition?

Guys I have a chance to buy what looks like a bhr ignition setup or most of it at least. Coils, mount, and plug wires for $80. Unknown miles on them. Think it would be worth it?

If you don't sweat $80, it sounds like a good deal since they sell for more than 5x that.

Then you've got good insurance.
I installed a new set of OEM coils, then shortly after replaced them with a new BHR kit, (which is very good) then I recently replaced that with the SakeBomb kit, just to try it.

I think I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow. Do those coils use special wires, or do you know if OEM wires will work with those coils?

OEM's fine, plug and play.
Just watch the first connector is not rubbing on the engine lift bracket.
You might want to get a little pack of zip ties.

Plug wires are different......coil wires should be plug and play 😎

Sorry about the incorrect info.
Idk if Charles at BHR sells just wire sets, I imagine he might, you can email him and ask.

You could buy it, send it to the man with the plan himself to see if he can figure out if it's one of his kits (It does look like it) he'd probably be able to test it and make sure it's fine, get you new wires and plugs from him for like $80 together. You'd still be far in the green. They look legitimately like his work though.

Picked the coils up today for $60, all he had was OEM wires so looks like I'm in the market for some wires.

Send an email to Charles at BHR and see what he can do.
He is excellent with customer service.

Hey BigCajun, do you have any thoughts on the SakeBomb ignition kit vs oem or BHR?

Performance wise, it's hard to say.
Just as when I installed the BHR kit, I noticed a difference.
BUT, each time I changed plugs, changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor, and reset the NVRAM.
I imagine the only definitive difference would be if they were both dynoed on the same vehicle.

I do like the mounting bracket, and the wiring harness on the SakeBomb.
It may be overkill on NA 8s, and the price difference is substantial, but I like it.
