hdpe or pet plastic bottles for pre mix storage...
wiki says hdpe is not commpatible with solvents, are there solvents in the good premix? ie non tcw3? can anyone help me with recommendations on bottles for storage...
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is the most widely used resin for plastic bottles. This material is economical, impact resistant, and provides a good moisture barrier. HDPE is compatible with a wide range of products including acids and caustics but is not compatible with solvents. It is supplied in FDA-approved food grade. HDPE is naturally translucent and flexible.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET, PETE or polyester) is commonly used for carbonated beverage, water bottles and many food products. PET provides very good alcohol and essential oil barrier properties, generally good chemical resistance (although acetones and ketones will attack PET) and a high degree of impact resistance and tensile strength. The orienting process serves to improve gas and moisture barrier properties and impact strength.

thanks alot, never even considered an aluminum bottle, ordered will update on quality, wondering if i should store these bottle in the trunk, with the oem strap to hold them or keep them in a ziploc bag in the cabin...

I reused an old Motul 710 (JASO FD rated 2-stroke) bottle as my refill container. Bought a cheap glass PYREX measuring bottle (100 mL though) with lid from a flea market to measure and dispense from into the gas tank.

I personally use a Rotary Bum bottle(which is HDPE), which works pretty well and never leaked. I might get more for the engine oil as well.
They recently updated the lids(I didn't even know that until now), so you don't have to worry about over-tightening the lids now.

I don't plan on reusing these bottles anymore because they tend to leak. The Idemitsu bottles leak pretty easily, and I had a bottle of Pennzoil which just decided to spray itself all over(thankfully it was in the trunk organizer, but it was still a mess).

BTW I keep my Motul 710 1L bottle full of delicious and nutritious FD 2-cycle oil in that handy upright container that is the back of the passthru (inside the trunk). I place ~ 10 papertowels in the bottom and not once has the container spilled nor fell out.

Another neat trick is that I use a cut open, cleaned 5 QT oil jug container as my leak-proof holding container for oil and oil change items that bands to the existing safety kit banding in the trunk. No mess yet in 2 years.

...also the best oil container I've found is the BMW 1L OEM oil containers...I carry my wally world 5W30 SAE SN grade oil for top off in that BMW container b/c the threads never leak.

My solution.......
A 2 ltr / 0,528 gallon bottle (previous screenwash anti freeze container) for storage of synth. 2-stroke oil with extendable pouring spout....... enabling me precise filling of 2 stroke oil prior to the immediate fill up of gasoline..........
I estimate the required 2-stroke oil amount in relation to the last distance covered (recorded by the daytrip meter)..........this is a very reliable indicator......I mix 1:100
EXAMPLE: I generally consume 11,5 litre gasoline per 100 km = 8,7 km per 1 litre.......after a traject of 350 km I need to fill up 350 : 8,7 = 40 litres/40.000 ml gasoline......at a premix rate of 1:100 I have to add 400 ml 2 stroke oil in the fuel tank prior to filling.
The flexible bottle can easily be pressurised manually for dosage in an accurate manner.........I first read the old level in the bottle (keeping it more or less horizontally) and I deduct the required amount for the fill up........and pour the oil into the gastank untill I achieve the new (lower) level in the bottle.
My 2 litre bottle in the trunk, secured at the bottom in a wider (black) tray (cut from an old larger plastic bottle) and secured at the top with 2 (wider) elastic straps that are fixed to the fixing belt of the tire compressor (the elastic straps are from the wife's sewing kit)........bombarding fixed for high speed cornering.....
