The 2009 Blue R3 has no warranty as it is a rebuilt title. The rebuilt title on any car voids the warranty.

I bought another R3, because it was the 2011 (last year of the RX-8), plus being a R3 made it better and my wife likes red more. The 2011 R3 is a piece of history and I found a great deal at the time, so decided to get it. Unfortunately, I'm actually selling the 2011 as well now, which is also posted on the forum.

For what it's worth, I test drove this car in the fall of 2016. It pulled hard and to my eye was pretty much as advertised. I would have purchased it, but wasn't willing to meet at the asking at the time because of my own broken RX-8 to deal with and the potential risks outlined in this thread.

Insurance companies are not going to repair a car if it's cheaper for them to simply give you money to buy another one.
Either way, I'm not trying to ruin your sale or anything, I was just making sure you weren't confusing people on whether or not it was salvage at one point.

2009: 555
2010: 263
2011: 132
Have to realize that in actuality, far less are on the road now.

Mine barely makes it out... it's job is track duty.. so yeah I understand. Where did you get those numbers? I've been kicking around with the idea of getting a 10 or 11 GT as my daily... but only a few ever are on Autotrader.

Yes true. There are many S2's out there for great prices. The R3 market though is tough. True R3's aren't selling for the book value and unfortunately banks's only look at the book.

Personally, I prefer GT's features, as it works as both a DD and a fun car. I like sunroof and heat seats. You can add most of the R3 stuff to a GT, but putting a sunroof in an R3 would be quite bit of work.

I reached out to Mazda's Customer Experience Center and they provided the numbers. It would be nice to figure out the current numbers on the road, but that would have to be a state to state inquiry with dmv.
I have a 09 automatic for sale, which I thought was a grand touring at first, but no sunroof, so just touring then?

That is true I'm not sure what would be easier. Cutting a hole in the roof to make the sunroof, or just cutting the roof at the pillars with a roof that already has the sunroof. The construction of the roof on the rx8, makes it pretty easy actually. Finding R3 parts to put on a GT is rather hard though. Hard to find and pricey.
