Well I was actually thinking of only offering you $9,000 CASH as my best offer.
It is a 2004, it has some cosmetic defects, it is now hit into the back, you are not the original owner, and the milage is high...
I think around $10K is your best bet.

Well I can't go that low. Blue book value in fair condition is $13K and I've had a dealership say they would give me $12K on trade-in so I guess I'll have to go that route instead.

The car will be in better than fair condition when I sell it because, like I said, the rear bumper will be fixed before I let it go. The side skirts aren't noticeable unless you are bending down looking for it. I showed all of these things because I like to be a honest person. I could have just fixed the bumper and no one would have ever known. 70k miles is a lot but I just can't stop driving it. Its just that much fun. This car has not sat a day since I got it. All the recalls are up to date. If there are any more questions, feel free to ask.

if the dealer is offering $12k on trade-in I'd take it if I were you, even if you have spend a couple hundred on paint
I'm waiting till spring/summer '09 to pick up an RX-8
with the economy the way it is and the RX-8's depreciating as fast as they are, they'll mostly be in the under $10K range

if his dealer trade in is 12k, why would he sell it for $10k and ship it on his dime??? That makes no sense at all. If lowballing is necessary just to get it into your price range, then you aren't making a smart financial decision by purchasing this car.
BTW, I'm pretty sure carmax would offer you more than the lowballers here, good luck with the sale.
