Hey Crew,
It pains me to do this, but up for sale is my beloved 2004 Mazda RX-8 GT. I am the second owner of this beautiful machine. This RX-8 came with EVERY option available from Mazda. I just completed extensive work on her, and she's running better than the day I bought her. The sole reason I'm selling is because I have come to a point where I need something more practical, i.e. four (real) doors and trunk space. The car looks, runs, and drives amazing. The Nordic Green is a rare color and, combined with the two-tone interior, this color scheme is hard to come by. You WILL stand out in a crowd.
You will be EXTREMELY hard pressed to find another RX-8 that's been so meticulously cared for and tastefully modified. I am not just an owner, but an enthusiast. I have performed ALL of the maintenance work myself, assuring nothing but quality care was delivered to this amazing machine. See below for upgrades, maintenance, and recent work details.
GT Package UPGRADES:
1. HID Headlights with Level-Adjustment Feature
2. Two-Tone Leather Interior with Heated Seats in RARE Color Combination
3. Sunroof
4. Premium BOSE 6-Disc CD Stereo with Surround Sound
5. Auto-Dimming Mirror with Integrated Homelink
6. Integrated Navigation System with Full Controls
7. Appearance Package
8. Rotary Accent Package
9. Rear Spoiler
Tasteful Modifications:
1. K&N Typhoon II Intake with ram-air piping
2. Forza Racing (OBX-R) Cat-Back Exhaust
3. *Racing Beat High-Flow Cat
4. Tein S-Tech Lowering Springs (See Note Below)
5. High Performance, Zinc Plated Drilled and Slotted Rotors, Ceramic Brake Pads
6. NGK Performance Ignition System
7. Exedy Stage I Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Throw-Out Bearing
8. *Momo V-12 Wheels, Size 18x7.5, Wrapped in Falken Azenis 245-40ZR18
9. *JDM Clear Corner Lights
10. *8000K HID Headlights
11. *8000K HID Fog Lamps
12. LED Spider-Series Brake Light Bulbs
13. *LED Amber Turn Signal Bulbs with Load-Stabilizer for Normal Flash Rate
14. *LED Reverse Lamp Bulbs
15. All Windows Professionally Tinted at 20%
Maintenance: This car has been meticulously maintained throughout its life as noted below:
I have changed the oil and filter religiously every 3000 miles with Castrol GTX 5W20 and OEM Filters, per Mazda recommendations.
Recent Maintenance/Work:
1. I just rebuilt the transmission (6-Speed Manual) 2,000 miles ago (July 2010). In doing so, I replaced a cracked bearing cover and the 4th gear syncro. Once completed, the Transmission Fuild was replaced with Mazda OEM Fluid. All other transmission internals were in excellent condition and measured out within specifications. The Exedy clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing were installed at the same time.
2. A High-Performance NGK Ignition System, including plugs, coils, and wires was installed at the same time as the transmission work, 2000 miles ago (July 2010).
3. Brakes were replaced 500 miles ago (September 2010) with high-performance, zinc plated dilled and slotted rotors. Ceramic brake pads replaced the stock pads.
4. K&N Intake Filter cleaned, re-charged 500 miles ago (September 2010).
5. The leather is continually treated with Maquire's Leather Care Solutions.
As you may be able to tell from the pictures, the car is in overall good condition. This is a 2004 and, therefore, she does show her age a little bit in some rock chips in the front fascia, as well as a few small scratches here and there. Even with this present, my car does not fail to yield compliments almost every time I'm out driving. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I can email additional pictures upon request.
*-Items outlined with this symbol are negotiable in the overall price. I am willing to accept a lower sale price, however to achieve a lower price, the items included may vary and can be negotiated upon.
NOTE- The Tein S-Tech springs are currently installed only on the front of the car. The rear remains OEM suspension. I did this because I preferred the stance this set-up offered. The rear springs WILL BE INCLUDED in the sale.
SPECIAL SERVICE NOTE- The ABS and Traction Control light is currently illuminated. The dealer indicated this is most likely a relay switch that has gone bad. Because I am interested in selling the car, I do not wish to put additional work into correcting this apparent issue. As a result, I have adjusted the asking prices accordingly to compensate for this issue. Additional negotiations are welcome.

Payment Methods: CASHIERS CHECK, CASH (In Person), CERTIFIED CHECK, bank TRANSFER, 3RD PARTY FINANCING All funds must be in US dollars only. Please be sure to have full payment and/or approved financing in place before making your final bid. After the sale is final, you or your financial instution will receive the title depending upon your state's practices. Illinois is a title-holding state, meaning that I do not have the title in hand, as I have a remaining balance due on the car.
Deposit: Within 24 hours after commitment to purchase, the buyer must place a refundable $500.00 deposit on the price of the car through Paypal to secure the vehicle.
Complete Payment: The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 5 days of commitment. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the car.
Shipping: The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. I will assist the buyer with finding a shipping company. I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving my possession. If the vehicle is going to be shipped, full payment must be received before the vehicle is delivered to the shipping company. If local, I can deliver the car to a pre-determined destination.
Negative Feedback or Brand New Members: I do not allow bidding from negative feedback buyers. New buyers with zero feedback rating should email me or call me prior to bidding or purchasing.
I reserve the right to end this auction or sale at any time. Feel free to ask questions by contacting me by E-Mail or by calling me at (815)572-1550. I am a firefighter and work 24 hour shifts. If I do not answer my phone, understand that I will return your call/E-Mail questions as soon as I can.
If you live locally you may see the car in person prior to bidding, I will arrange a location to meet to do so. The car will continue to be driven during this sale listing. Once the auction/sale has ended and I receive the $500.00 deposit the car will not be shown or moved until arrangements are agreed upon regarding this transfer. I will send an E-Mail with pictures of the final mileage of the car to ensure that it does not move until delivery or pick-up. I drive locally only, so accrued mileage should be minimal.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to ask questions.

Yeah...I love those things! I'm not interested in trading, especially for stock. Thank you though. If they don't go with the car, then I'm definately keeping them. They were hard to come by. Thanks though.

Okay. First of all, you need to post more pics...and for the love of God, clean that thing up.
WOW!! Beautiful car! I agree, very tastefully modified and obviously well maintained. Sorry you feel you need to sell, but I can't imagine you'll have too much trouble finding an appreciative buyer.

Thanks for the bumps and comments guys! I do appreciate it a ton. I'll work on getting more pics up...sorry : -) hahaha
Thanks, but I'm not interested in trading for another 8. I've had an incredible opportunity pop up for another, more.practical car, so I'm selling to try to make a move on it. If my 8 doesn't sell, then I will very gladly keep it. I love this car! Thank you again crew.

Bump!
I have the original engine, which is still running unbelievably strong! I drove her home from work this morning and with the cold air...wow. She was unreal. Make an offer before I pull my listing!

Beautiful car. I tried to sell my 8 about a year ago for like $12,000 with very similar mileage but it's an '05. I had it listed for $12,000 for like 1 month and didn't get 1 hit. Unfortunately there just isn't a lot of demand for our cars. Needless to say I decided to just pay it off and keep it and just purchased myself a daily driver. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for your thoughts. I know the market sucks right now. That, coupled with the fact that the RX8 is a niche car, made me suspect it wouldn't sell fast. Not a huge deal for me, though. I'll probably strip her down and trade her in this weekend, if all goes according to plan.
