The engine is a Mazda remanufactured engine and has about 9 thousand miles on it. The transmission and clutch are brand new and were just installed two days ago so they have less than 200 miles.

Well I'm seriously considering it, got a few monkeys to work out on my end first, namely who's going to come get it. How soon do you need to sell it? Cause I might not be able to buy it till January when I get home on R&R. I do not yet know when I'm coming home as they have not told me, though I requested Christmas time. I can ask my dad to send you the money for me if absolutely necessary. Also, do you know where I can get a red/black replacement steering wheel, and is there any other wear and tear on the inside? My main concern is the interior and the mechanics.
Also, how did you want to get paid if I'm not able to physically come get it?

A new steering wheel can be purchased from Mazda. I think they're around 350-400 dollars. The drivers floor mat is starting to wear but its very minor.
Let me know what you want to do. I will except cash or cashiers check as payment.

Floor mats are fine, I'm more worried about the red and black leather as I imagine that would be more difficult to replace. I'm considering a couple options as to what to do with it.
My first idea was to have you ship it to Modern Image in CA, but that presents multiple problems for multiple people which I'm not sure I want to deal with at the moment.
The other thing I could do is I just realized that you live in VA, that's at most 5 hours from where I live in NC. I could come get the car first thing when I come home on R&R in Late Dec/Early Jan (they haven't told me when yet), and in the mean time I can go ahead and ask my dad to pay you for the car (with my money of course, he has a power of attorney for while I'm gone). That will also give me a vehicle to use while I'm on R&R, which I'm going to need.
A few questions,
1.) How soon do you need to sell it?
2.) Why were the engine and transmission replaced?
3.) Could you post the VIN number? I'd like to run a vehicle history report.
4.) Why are you selling it?
5.) Does it have tinted windows? It kinda looks like it in the exterior photos but then doesn't on the interior photos.
I'd really like to see some more pictures of the interior from different angles, especially the dash.

After thinking about it and asking my parents, I think It's best that I don't buy a car right now and let it sit in a driveway, but instead save and invest my money for now. Unfortunately this car is just what I was looking for. If you fix it up, replace the scratched bumper with a body kit, repaint it whatever, for about a grand you might be able to get 12+ out of it considering the engine and tranny are brand new, or you once again have a very nice car, and you obviously like the RX-8 else you probably wouldn't be on this forum.
If on the off chance you happen to be still trying to sell it come may or june, I'll probably be sticking around.

Changed my mind again lol. I'll buy it when I come home in December if you haven't sold it by then. Don't think I can pass this one up. If not, well I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Beautiful car. I PMed you my contact information as I'm very interested in the car and currently have the cash at hand.
Is there still a warranty on the car?
Since the engine and transmission are new, does it drive close to new?
Any mechanical problems at all?
What's the estimated cost of body/paint repair?
Thanks hope to here from you soon

Thanks for the complement. The warranty has expired. It drives better than new because of the Cobb tune and the sound of the exhaust is perfect.
There are two problems. Neither of which affect the driveability or longevity of the car. The air pump no longer works but since I ALWAYS let the car warm up longer than the minute or so that its on its never a problem. I do have a tune that will get rid of the check engine light but I want to let everything be known. The second problem is the sensor in the coolant overflow tank is going out. The light comes and goes on the dash. It doesn't affect the car but its there.
I got an estimate to repair the rear bumper of $468.
Let me know if you have anymore questions. Ill be happy to answer.
