Hey everyone, thanks for taking a look at this post. I've been convinced by friends and family to consider selling my baby. Just got married 8/25/12 and looking to buy a SUV.
I bought this car brand new at the dealer and have put so much money and time into this car making it what it is today. All the major jobs have been done by Dave from Speed 1 in PA (formally known as KDR).
I have gauges, greddy profec B boost controller, interceptor x ecu and etc.
The only thing I have left that I planned to do was to get ethanol cooling and perhaps a nice new fresh paint job.
Engine & Performance:
Currently sits at about 352 whp
Originally had the Esmeril Kit but had so many problems with it so swapped out and upgraded many parts. Main one being the Turbo to Garrett GT35
Street port and polish rebuilt motor with upgraded apex seals (Has less than 7k miles)
BHR Coils and Radiator
ACT Stage 2 Clutch with Prolite Flywheel
Agency Power Pulleys
Interceptor ECU
Greddy SP2 Exhaust
RP Midpipe
Exterior:
R Speed Front Bumper, Side skirts, and a different rear bumper. (Front and rear bumpers need some repairs)
Black rims with polished lips with 225 front wheels and 245 rear wheels.
Side Strakes.
Redtop battery relocated to the trunk.
*Serious buyers contact me and I can provide pictures, additional info, and test drives*
I went to many rx8 local meets long time ago and many locals can tell you about my car as I've given many of them test drives.
Thanks for looking again and God Bless.

Sounds great.... Emphasis on "sounds". You HAVE to have pics if you want to sell anything on the Internet.
That said, $22k? Seriously? I'm sure you have much more than that into it, but unfortunately you'll be lucky to get half that. :-( I've seen some niiiiiice cars just sit while the owners did price drop after another. Good luck, unfortunately you're gonna need all you can get.
GLWS.

^350whp is expensive, like 10k. Add in the rebuild, and porting and its still under 100k body miles and i think its a okay price, slightly high but should be perfect for someone looking to buy a rx8 and boost it.

I understand 22k is a lot of money (especially during tough times), but I assure you I've put in SO much more money and that's how confident I am in my car. This car is a beast and besides the nicks i have in my bumpers (this grandma backed up into my car while it was parked), this car is amazing.
Also, I'm in no desperation to sell this as this car is my baby and I drive it usually only on Saturdays.. I'd love to keep this car but I also have a Prius (love that car too lol... the complete opposite of my car), but with my wife working and planning a child, I don't think it's necessary to have 3 cars. She's not pregnant so we're in no rush but I'm posting it with this price to see if I get any serious interests.
Price then can always be reasonably adjusted.
The way I feel about this car is, if you have the money, if you drive the car, you can even take it to your well trusted mechanic, you'll buy this car without feeling the asking price is unjust.

Sounds awesome ... would be a rare car indeed if the figures are real.
Would take a real special buyer to understand/care for the car.

Would love to see a dyno sheet.

Just saw this post pop up again because it was updated. I hope you didn't take any offense at my remarks, certainly none was intended. I was only trying to add another viewpoint as someone who has watched the resale on these cars with great interest as I recently bought my son a 2009 R3 for his birthday.
I'm glad to hear you're in no hurry to sell it as I've watched so many gorgeous RX8's sit and sit as the owners dropped the price over and over. Unfortunately the reality is that most of the market for a 2004 RX8 is comprised of 19 year olds going for their dream car and the sad fact is these guys, as a general rule, have to be financed. Which means if your car is worth more than the bank's finance value, they don't have access to the kind of cash it's going to take to buy it.
Anyway, I really do wish you good luck with your sale and I hope you sell it fast, the market turns around and I'm proven wrong! Hey, in a few years *I* am going to have a 2009 R3 to sell when I buy him a college graduation gift. lol I'm not going to hold my breath though.
Take care. (free bump! lol)

Hey my first car was a crappy (I thought at the time, I'd love to have that car back) Datsun 240Z. Painted the most God awful shade of green I'd ever seen (of course that was only to cover the rust...lmao) so it was ugly as original sin and someone had replaced whatever the stock induction was with three two barrel side draft carbs. I was 16 and my dad was a die hard "ford man". So between the two of us neither had a freaking clue how to EVER get those carbs syncronized and consequently the car ran like sh*t.
So, ugly as hell and ran like crap. But ya know? I wouldn't go back and change it if I could. Some of the best memories of my life are associated with that pile of crap car. hahahaha

Damn. I hate being right on this. The resale on these cars just sucks. Still a beautiful car. I knew it wouldn't sell at 22, here's hoping for better luck going forward. It's easy to see why so many people part out there babies.
Lots of pics may help. Realistically, to get any decent money out of her you'll probably have to part out/return to stock and then sell.
I still vote for keep her and get the SUV kiddo hauler. Don't sacrifice you're baby. Lol
Good luck.

Spring is here and it took me awhile to take these pictures but they're finally up... these pictures were taken this past Friday on 4/19/13 at Speed 1 (formally KDR) at Dave's shop in Lenhartsville, PA.
I left it with him to get my metering pump replaced and a final tune up. He's done all the work on my car so you are more than welcome to check it out at his place and he can explain to you all about the car in detail.
The damages on the bumpers are easily repairable according to Dave. A neighbor of mine backed up into my parked car so it wasn't anything major or severe.
Let me know if you guys have any questions or concerns, would love this car to go to a great owner.
