2011 R3 Bilstein suspension

Category: Steering & Suspension
Price: $175
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I, Series II
Location (US State/Canada/Int): UT
Item Condition: Used

I recently purchased a 2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 and replaced the stock Bilstein suspension with an Ohlins Road and Track unit.

The Bilstein's have approximately 15,000 miles on them.

The previous owner had the bottom of the car sprayed with a protective undercoating, with some of the undercoating being sprayed on the Bilsteins (cosmetic only - they function perfectly normal).

I previously owned a 2009 Mazda RX-8 GT for 3 years, and the Bilsteins offer up a stiffer and sportier ride. These are the stock units that Mazda installs on the R3.

I'll split the shipping costs and professionally pack the suspension.

Here's a picture of the Bilsteins - I'll ship everything you see in photo:

I've never got the chance to compare but does the R3 sit lower than GT Rx-8s?

Is this a direct swap for a Series 1? I thought there were some differences between series.

If these fit the series 1 (04) i may need to take them off of your hands.

Can you still read the part #'s? If so, then I'd be able to find out whether they'll work on my series 1.

I checked the parts but can't find anything that resembles a part number. I would suggest you call your local Mazda dealer and talk with the parts / service department and ask them if these parts fit on a S1. I'll try to call my local dealer and see if I can track down the information.

Yes it's a direct swap for S1, I did put 2009 R3 spring/shocks on my 2004. However, it sits *higher* (about 3/8") than my 2004 stock setup, I suspect it's just the original springs were worn after 10 years. The rear is slightly higher than the front but If I don't tell you, you would'nt notice. The GF did'nt see it

On racingbeat website, they have a different part number for rear shocks if you have oem billstein vs normal.

So if you wanna be more catholic than the pope (a saying translated from french, not offence to anyone), it's not a direct fit since there's a different part number. But if you ask me, it's direct fit alright.

Hopes it helps!
