2004 NG Touring MT RX8 - SOLD
Year: 2004
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $3500
Mileage: 91000
Color: Nordic Green
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): KS
EDIT: just got the compression test done and the numbers aren't good:
R1: 5.6, 5.9, 5.6 @ 250
R2: 6.3, 6.3, 6.1 @ 250
I'm shocked because she still pulls hard but those are the cards that are dealt. I'm dropping the price and looking to move on. If you're looking for a project - she's a beautiful car and had I not had the numbers run, I wouldn't have even known the engine was in the shape I'm being told it is in.
The Good:
- Manual Transmission
- Stock wheels (plenty of rash from the original owner) sitting on Blizzak winters (will need new tires soon) with TPMS
- BHR Ignition Coils
- AFE Short Throw Shifter
- AEM CAI
- Brand new spark plugs
- Shine AutoBahn front and sides
- ENVY CF lip spoiler
- EVO-R CF eyelids
- Bronze powdercoated rear rotary accent
- 35% side tint, 20% on the rear
- Clear corners with stealth bulbs
- Rotary Rasp green LED footwell lights
- RB A/C and oil cooler screens
The Bad:
- Updated 12/20: Engine compression numbers are terrible so this is being sold needing a new engine. I still can't believe it but only have the numbers to go by.
- I must have a magnet in parking lots. One small rear end - small divot in the plastic part that is hardly noticeable. Had someone take out my front fender - fully replaced including paint and looks perfect. Had someone run into my side - has a few swirls if you look at it from the right/wrong angle. All of this is just full disclosure - you would never know by looking at the car that any of it happened.
- The keyfobs don't work. I've replaced the batteries and tried rebooting but will likely need more work than that.
- The coolant light has the common problem of always being on but the coolant level is perfect.
- The Shine AutoBahn front sits low so does have some light scrapes on the bottom.
- For whatever reason, my fender liner splash shields both came loose and are missing. I kept meaning to buy some and replace since they're so cheap but haven't gotten around to it in the last few months.
$3,500 will include the original front bumper with the foglights along with any of the other original parts (I think I might still have the original shifter, maybe the amber corners, a Greddy oil catch I bought used but never installed, etc.) that the new owner wants to take.
I'm just I'm located just south of Kansas City, MO so let me know who is interested.
The picture below is from a while back so I'll take more pictures to show the details of any imperfections. EDIT: updated in below posts now.

Current pics
The sun didn't want to come out today and doesn't look like it will get any better for the next week. Here are a couple shots of what she looks like today sitting on the stock wheels with Blizzaks.

Here is the driver door mentioned in the original post (the swirls that show from the proper angle), the rear bumper (basically, the guy's license plate screws "stamp"), and the front bumper closer from pulling out of a driveway that must have been too steep.

As soon as the sun comes out, I'll take some more pics. Any specific you'd like to see? I'll definitely get the engine bay but if there are any other specific ones you want, let me know.

That's great. We'll try to coordinate so that you can get an unbiased opinion. I don't want anyone to have buyer's remorse because they didn't have all the info ahead of time so anything to help the other side feel better ahead of time is good by me.

Compression numbers came back poor:
R1: 5.6, 5.9, 5.6 @ 250
R2: 6.3, 6.3, 6.1 @ 250
I have updated the original post, dropped the price, and am still shaking my head wondering how the numbers came back so surprising. I was told it will need a new engine so that changes the game up quite a bit.
