2006 White Pearl Shinka - $6850 with 66,900 miles - Wisconsin
Year: 2006
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $6850
Mileage: 66900
Color: Pearl White
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): WI
If interested email me at rmorit01@gmail.com with RX8 Shinka in the title - located near Madison, Wisconsin. I can email a copy of the carfax for serious buyers.
My Shinka is #439 with a build date of 3/8/2006. Shinkas were only built in 2005 and 2006 with 2,150 produced in total and 1,357 shipped to North America. The Mazda RX-8 Shinka editions had all of the premium options of the Grand Touring models, like Xenon headlights, moonroof, 6 way adjustable seats, heated seats/mirrors and Bose sound systems.
In 2006, white pearl paint was a Shinka option along with the alacantra grey leather trimmed interior - a Shinka only option. The other unique feature of the Shinka is that they had specially revised Bilstein shocks and suspension cross members filled with urethane foam to improve ride quality. Like all Mazda RX8s they have the unique suicide doors for access to the rear passenger seat.
I have full maintenance records and a complete carfax for interested buyers. In preparation for sale, I had a compression check performed in November of 2020 at a local Mazda dealership (Russ Darrow Mazda) showing excellent compression results - Front KPA @ 313 RPM A 9.0 B 8.9 C 8.8 and Rear KPA @ 304 RPM A 8.8 B8.9 C8.9. If you know rotary engines you will understand those results.
The engine is the Mazda RENESIS 1.3 liter rotary engine with 2 rotors/6 ports and the car has a 6 speed manual transmission. For fun I did run the car on the Kelly Moss (Madison) mustang dyno and you can see where the ports open up along the rev range. The car made 186HP at the rear wheels and max torque of 142 Ft-Lb. These engines are made to rev and the cars are made to handle. They are a 50/50 weight balanced car with the rotary engine sitting very low in the chassis and about the size of a basketball. The car is sitting on Hankook All Season tires and is being sold with the stock rims.
The only modifications to the car have been for reliability purposes. Those modifications include Black Halo Racing (BHR) ignition coils and an Optima yellow top battery - other than those two modifications the car is stock. The only repairs have been to the radiator overflow tank and the fuel pump being replaced on recall along with takata air bags, also replaced under recall.
The only items that are not excellent on the car are the passenger side dash air bag cover with two cracks (see photo), a door ding on the driver side, a split on the front air dam, curb rash on a couple rims and a few paint chips around the hood/front bumper.
I will sell a set of summer wheels and tires for the car for those interested as a package deal. They are one season old (summer of 2020) Michel Pilot Sport 4S tires that are mounted on OZ Ultraleggera (very lightweight wheels) purchased from Big Bear Tire in Oconomowoc - see photo. I will add those to the sale for $1250 for an interested buyer. If not sold with the car I will sell separately at a yet to be determined price.
As always no scammers and no help needed selling.
I would like to sell to a Mazda enthusiast who appreciates the unique character of the brilliant Mazda engineering and loves to hear a rotary engine rev.

I peruse cargurus for Rx8s out of curiosity every now and then and they’re becoming harder to find. Examples like this anyway! Congratulations on the sale and to the new owner. Maybe we’ll see him in the new owners forum
