Mazda 16X (Large Pics)
Hey, grabbed some of these off of another site and they're the best quality pics of the motor I've seen so far.

23% displacement increase and the cool thing about the full side port motor having more narrow rotors and taller flat housings is that there is even more available port area! I'm sure I'm leaving out effeciency and added rotor weight, but 1.23 x 232 is 285 and the extra port area and the direct injection could mean that the 16X could maybe be released as making 300hp. That would do wonders for RX-8 (or whatever car it'll be in) sales.

Son-of------!!! These engines will not be swapable into the current rx8's ----Son-of- -----!!!
I wonder what they did for the engine bearings to take on this heavier load? Longer stroke also means an increased flame front degree. Hotter?
Wont be able to mod this engine much with that direct injection set up. This will give the tuning boys a whole new toy to play with.
Can anyone say getting ready for other fuels?

In a way this is a good thing. It could also be a bad thing assuming they put it a rx8 that looks like the 09. The car will not be as rare as it is now and all the douche bag kids that think the rx7 is the greatest car in the world will not want it. They will think they are fast and more street races with the new car will happen which means higher wrecks and higer insurance costs for the car. This engine will bring out the bandwagon jumpers immediately.
