Ah i'm so happy carmakers are getting out of the "lets make it all N/A" mentality and realizing how efficient and reliable turbos are!
So come the days with +50hp/+100tq remaps

It's the location that's so amazing. the n54 turbos are more of a standard mounting location. mounting the turbos in the channel like that is pretty crazy. they most have done ridiculous engineering to determine if the added heat soak from the turbos would impact the engine at all..

not that weird. some versions of the porsche cayenne handle real well, too, and those're the original tanks. it's all done with LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of electronic gizmos and ginormous tires

If it was a wagon it wouldn't seem so bad it's just that it's jacked up so it would seem there would be a lot of body roll and inertia from the 2.5 ton mass. I applaud BMW for making it handle as well as it does but I question the thinking behind creating it at all. The TT V8 with all the techno wizardry would be much more palatable under a 2009 Audi Avant skin.
I’d like to see Mazda get the “Twin Force” V-6 (Is it Ecoboost now?) from Ford and stuff it in the new Mazda 6 with the new Haladex AWD unit. 350-400hp in the Mazda 6 wagon would be pretty cool, sedan and liftback too of course. I’m sure they won’t though.
