Tint and PA
Hey Folks,
Have any of you 8 owners in eastern PA (Lehigh, Bucks, Berks, Northhampton Counties) tinted your windows yet? If so, with what and where? My understanding is that we can tint up something less than 30 - 37% 'blocking' but I am looking for some local validation. I want to do it but will not without keeping our friendly police forces happy. It isn't worth it IMHO.
Thanks,

PA window tint laws are rather vague. Im in western PA, and did some research before i got tinted up. I would recommend spending some time on this site...

If you just read over the laws it looks like you are only allowed to tint 70% (the lower the percentage the darker the tint). If you read the site closely you can uncover that the law really says that tint is legal, as long as you can see into the windows. Basically it is a judgement call. Anything lower than 30% is pretty much too dark. I got mine tinted to 32%, got it done right after Christmas, and have had no run-ins with the law yet, and yes i do drive the car a lot in the winter, Dunlop WinterSport M2's have kept me on the road. I get a lot of compliments on the tint, and i think it looks great. Just stay around 35% or so, its plenty dark enough and should keep the law dogs at bay.
