Its hard to see, take a flashlight and put it to the left on the coolant tank and you will see it... its hard to explain, but its easier to see if you take off your battery cover as well...

Maybe it's a dumb question, but it's a pain to see this. Yesterday I was adding coolant and put in too much. The coolant is about an inch over the fill mark. Is that going to be a problem?

Im not even going to bother getting it right between the low and full mark. I warm the car up with the heater and cap off, see that it is at the full line, put on the cap, and rev to 3,000 RPM. After revving, the coolant level stays the same, so I put on the heater and rev it once more, then the level drops, so I refill it, and repeat. Then it is an inch above the line.

I go for a drive, come back, and it is below the line. I let it cool, refill it, turn on the car, and it is an inch above the line again!

Not even going to bother. As long as it stays above low, im happy with it.

It's funny to have the Max and Min lines 1/2" apart...

If you put in too much it will end up on the ground....

Too bad it pours all over the power steering connectors on the way down

Has anyone extended the overflow tube?

Lots of us have done so.
Mine runs all the way down and I have about 1/2 inch sticking out one of those slots in the undertray. That **** ain't getting on my Power Steering connectors if I can ever help it!

Every thread where someone has issues with the power steering going out, 8 out of 10 times they have had either overheating issues(coolant overflow) due to overfill or something, or..............they tried to prove the RX8 is a submarine.

In the case where it's been boil over, I ALWAYS tell them that they might want to extend that hose after they get through cleaning the power steering connectors! Just have to make sure you route it off to the side so it doesn't get caught in the fan blades.
