'10 R3- thanks y'all!
Long story short:
Middle aged and read these boards because was told by friends "Great car but troubled". Thanks to these informative threads and the FAQs I felt I had a personal consultant. Picked up an R3 yesterday and drove around some of the curvy roads. The only other two cars that felt this way to me were the Cayman and the early 3 series until they got heavy. It's not just the turns though. It is how the steering feels in a straight line that is so satisfying. The engine is as smooth as the 3 series sweet 6 cylinder.
Had an 09 s2000 that I sold recently. There is NO, NO, NO, NO comparison to this car. Forget all the safety features that this car has but it is so more planted in turns and the steering feel is "Porsche/BMW" like than the Honda could ever hope for. Don't care what anyone says, the s2k even with TC on had a backend that never felt secure.
I know most of you could be my grandkids but thanks for your help.

Welcome to the group. When I bought I bought mine back in 07 I had been reading up on here for over 2 years. It was nice to go into the dealer and know far more than they did about it. I think I even sold one while I was waiting for them to finish detailing her for my drive home.
Enjoy the fun of this car. I can't ever find enough curvy roads to satisfy the car or myself 8^)

Welcome to the addiction.
There are more of us than one might think!

And this list isn't even updated that regularly, so there are those that have crept in, and those that have moved on to over 50 and even 60!

Wow you bought an S2000 last year and already canned it?! Well i guess I don't have to regret that I never drove one. So much for the factory saying they banished the oversteer with the AP2 changes lol. Enjoy the R3!

I'm also middle aged ... although I wasn't when I bought the car 7 years ago. I don't blame the RX 8 for that change. Welcome to the machine. You have only begun to plumb the depths of its goodness.

Nice move on the car. I'm 44, got my 2008 new two years ago. Just turned 4500 miles (it sits in a garage in Alaska quite a bit), but I'm driving it more and more. Planning big roadtrip with my two kiddies next year. Going to cough up the money to get the car south. My question, even though I'm a RX freak, I'd like to hear more of your comments about the S2000. I know a guy who has one, and we've been planning on trading test drives, but it hasn't happened yet. I really would like to drive the S2000, just to check her out. My good friend has a Chrysler Crossfire, which I really like, except it has an auto tranny. I've always been a car nut, and now that I actually have a car again (used to have two 280Z's), the car addiction is just getting worse!! I also would like to drive the BMW 3 series, after reading in Car and Driver (my main car mag) how incredible it is after all these years. Cheers, Jaderain

Guys - thanks for all the feedback. Put 600 miles on her following the recommended break in from the manual.
The car is just uncanny. It is hard to describe the feedback and feel of this car as you rotate into a turn. Few cars can do this. The Cayman but few others.
Had a couple of questions about my old 09 s2k. There is no comparison. People talk about the steering feel- there was none if u use a Cayman or 8 as comparison. And taking the 8 around the same roads as I took the s2k the 8 does it faster and with gobs of feel. I am a Honda fan by the way and loved the vtec .

You're right - I've had the car for 6 years now and these boards are a wealth of information and saved me lots of money and time. I know she's not the fastest on the road but she is still damn sexy and has unmatched driver feeling.
Welcome and nice list of cars! Please post in the "what was your previous car thread?". It's interesting to see what cars people are coming from.
