Battery Not holding charge
Hey guys,
I have an 06 6AT with 21K miles on it. The battery has been having some issues holding a charge...it looks fairly new, but there were no dates punched out so I have no idea if this is the original battery.
If its the original battery I suppose I found my problem... but I'm also having the dealer I bought it from check the charging system and plugs for carbon build up.
This particular car according to purchase records was a fleet vehicle for a company. So I imagine it really wasnt driven as intended or atleast in a way that extends ignition system life a little longer.
That aside, If this is a new battery thats not holding charge and the charging system checks okay, where should I begin to look next?
Thanks,

new battery car starts fine but dying out after some miles = bad charging system
car needs a jump start but runs fine after started wont start parked for a while = bad battery
if both are bad, it wont start and dies when you pull the jump cable off after you jump started it.
make sure you dont have any rust or corrosion on the terminals

UPDATE: I did another jump start, its been consistently running fine after every jump. but before i got it in when I scheduled the appt. I made note to the dealer that the CEL was on now and the DSC was off (button did not change anything)
They're going to replace the battery and then do further tests...I'll keep everyone posted

Wrong Forum..
The BIGGEST issue with Battery Failures in the 8 (and ANY Car) is not keeping the fluid levels up.
The 8's Battery gets a lot of Heat, particularly the rear 3 Battery Cells...Heat means evaporation.

My bad, but thanks for the tips guys... seems everything is working fine now with the new battery. I'll still be doing a plug, wire, and coil change within the next two weeks.
