New Engine...Dealer Messed Up WTF!
So I had my compression tested and it failed so Mazda replaced my engine under warranty. A day after I get my car back the coolant light kept going on and off. It seemed to go on when above 4000rpm. I checked the coolant and it was low and dirty looking. I could still see it in the tank but it was definitely below the low marker. I went to some autoparts stores but no one had the coolant for this car. I was in a rush for work and couldnt make it over to mazda so I scheduled and appointment with mazda. The next day when I went to go bring my car in, the cel goes on. They diagnose it as A.P.V actuator and coolant tank. At first they wanted me to pay for it. Then I bitched to the service manager and he agreed to replace it free of charge. Now I get my car back, cel is off, coolant light is off, but the car still seems to just drive like ****. At low acceleration it feels good like it'll take off like a rocket if I slam it, but when I do, theres just nothing there. They checked my cat and said its good. They replaced coils, plugs, wires. I seriously feel like I could get whipped by a honda civic dx. This is the only 8 I've driven so I don't know for sure, maybe it really is this slow? Im about to go to another stealership and have the compression tested on this engine. But after being without this car for over a month, I just don't want to deal with it right now. I drove around with the coolant light going on and off for about 40 miles (not 40 miles straight though), I really had no choice. And the cel for only about 10. I guess my ultimate question is this. After driving around with these issues, could it have caused permanent damage to my new engine?

I literally had this car for only a week before realizing something just wasn't right so I brought it in as a precaution after seeing all the troubles with this engine. Im lucky it was under warranty still at 95,000mi. 2004 6spd.

Coolant bottle(more accurately, the sensor) is a known issue. You should've searched for that and has nothing to really do with the engine replacement.
And the answer to your last question is..............."No, you didn't cause any damage". As a matter of fact, you can unplug the coolant sensor and not even replace the bottle, you just have to watch the level on your own.
If they really got an APV code after checking the CEL, then that needs to be taken care of.

I had my engine replaced after a month of problems. The first replacement refurbed engine failed after 5 miles. the car stalled out. Dealer was in shock and had to put in a 2nd engine. car runs faster and smoother tahtn ever with this 2nd engine. You probably got a bad engine like me and it just needs to be replaced again. lol its sucks. trust me.
